From the Belfast Telegraph - Clarkson demands posh booze, fags and a steak knife.

Confusing real life with make believe. Easily done.
Sean Penn, Russell Crowe and Mark Wahlberg are all make believe characters now are they?

All have a history of clouting people - and all can be found in content shown by Sky.

The point is that Penn, Crowe & Wahlberg aren't Sky employees though, are they? They appear in movies on Sky the same way that Sky still shows Top Gear repeats on Dave.
I struggle to see how this is in any way difficult to understand.

Your line of thought re/Keane would only apply if, for instance, Clarkson was prevented from working as a Sky presenter years after a fracas when a racing driver in a previous life.

Andy Gray was sacked from Sky as a result of his sexist comments.

Sky are being perfectly consistent when they say they don't want to hire someone who punches work colleagues in the face.

Blimey zygalski is pretty testy. Must be hungry or something! hehe

I don't think that one Sky guy's comments on Twitter are necessarily that relevant (they read a bit "look at me, I'm important" to me), but I think in practice the dust will settle for a good while before Clarkson takes his next step in terms of TV work. I suspect it will be with the others, though - I think they James May is right in saying that the combination of them all is what works. Clarkson alone is less of a draw IMO.

I just think they have the money to fund it and will have seen all this as some cracking publicity. What were the TG viewing figures? 6Million in the UK alone? Even if 1/2 that signed up to them at £5 a month....

7 million a season apparently.

That's £1.16 a viewer

I think each case needs to be judged on its own merits.
eg; is Jonathan Ross a violent alcoholic who has attacked a work colleague?
Or is he someone who likes to bully, belittle and insult an old man for his own edification?
The bloke is a prize tw*t. Since you raise it...

I have a ticket booked and I'm pretty sure it says TOP GEAR on the booking. BBC Worldwide are employing Clarkson. This is just a complete copout.

Unimpressed.

I'm currently watching the 1989 German GP and couldn't help but think what appears at first resembles a Porsche ambulance though most likely medical/course car.
