Yes, it's actually pretty good now I'm happy to say.
Although I keep half expecting Markus (weird feeder guy) to burst out into his John Cleese impersonation.

I wondered why the detective got there so fast - turns out he was supposed to be investigating a different (possible) murder?
The opening scene of episode one, Michael Gambon (Henry) shot a guy (Pettigrew) who was being mauled by a bear. Cut three years into the future and he makes a call from a bar on a pay phone to UK to say he knew who killed him. On the carcass, it's been said a few times in the program that animals in the ice do not degrade, diseases could be carried. The doctor also said the Sutter kid had all the symptoms of mumps but could also have been something else, possibly carried by his dad from his time in Afghan. The kid had also been in contact with the carcass.

That's what I assumed. I think the cough was a not so subtle give away. It's a shame we have not really heard much of Liam's condition in the last two episodes. Anyone else think the two local copper birds are rather lovely?

come again? Was that incident supposed to be 3 years before the current day? So the detective took the long route to Fortitude then!!
The phone call was made by Gambon at present time, so the detective was on the flight out after the phone call was made.. Turns up and there's been another murder - wasn't he on the plane with Dr Who's wife? - and he ends up winging it with the murder of Stoddard(sp?)... that's how I saw it anyway.I should probably learn the names of the characters..

Well written ,keeps me and Mrs Pad guessing to what the juddering f**k is going on.
The little boy is possessed.
Possessed, maybe. Unless the creepy feeder Marcus is also a creepy teacher that has psychologically done something to Liam. The mammoth remains certainly has something else to add at some point. The little boy is possessed.
I think Pettigrew found the mammoth and was killed, then someone dumped the remains where the kids found it. It makes no sense for it to have been sticking out of the ice like it was. Prttigrew finding the mammoth and his murder may not have been connected though, although they've pointed too big a finger at Elena being responsible for it to actually be her.
I'm settling on; Fortitude is a messed up town.
