ks. I hope they all get wasp larvae in their dinners and die.The last episode was as bad as the first.
Overall it was a disappointing waste of a decent budget, story premise and some really good actors. I think the writing was really poor and hopefully Simon Donald will get some help or be replaced for the next series.
Some gripes from this episode alone:
A sealed room full of insects and you decide to blow it up? WT actual F ! Did Michael Bay direct this episode?
A town of 800 people has an trauma unit that Detroit would be proud of and can fix a bullet shredded heart, despite their only doctor being dead & no nurses to be seen.
They've got "The Thing" style flame throwers. Really??? Come to that, why did they have flame throwers in "The Thing" as well.
I don't think I want to sit through another series to be honest. Perhaps a US TV network will remake it in Alaska, use a team of experienced writers and do a far better job at it.
There's already been a film called "The Thaw" from 2009, which is similar and pretty terrible apparently.

Start off interesting, got annoyed through the middle, then when it started ramping up at the end i thought i'd stick with it.
For everything that i thought was good about it, there was something else i found annoying/frustrating about it. Some interesting characters, others that just seemed to be put there to spice things up.
Did the boy (the first victim) actually get stung? I dont remember him or the other girl saying he had been. I always assumed it was airborne spores that infected people. In fact, im still not clear what the life-cycle of the parasite is... boy gets stung by wasp that hatched from mammoth. Poison contains micro-eggs, and sends him loopy. Kills man, and pukes up micro eggs into his chest cavity. Eggs then hatch and wasps eat victim from the inside out. Right?
I also laughed at the flame throwers - not just the fact they were there, but also that they got the policewoman to use them (rather than the towns fire service). Also, how was that a controlled extermination of all the wasps? One could easily have flown out when he walked in to the garage, walked out again, or when they went it again to torch it.
Rumour is series 2 could be a prequel, but that sounds daft - the whole point of the show was that prior to this there had never been a murder, or any serious crime of note. And a sequel would have to deal with the contagion spreading off the island, because surely more people getting infected on the island would be a bit boring (now that the cause is known to everyone)

There were too many things I rolled my eyes at. He shut himself in the room with the dead doctor instead of leaving and shutting it behind him. The flamethrowers. The explosion. The fact the explosion blew a whole room to bits and he survived. The fight with the Russian. The Russian fell down the hole. Dan shoots Elena, hesitates doing so despite in process of murdering a child.

I'm pretty happy with the overall explanation, but I also do like sci-fi/horror explanations as well.
Overall I enjoyed it, however the last episode was the one that annoyed me the most.
The slow mo flame-thrower crap, the slow mo "I've just shot a bird I fancy", the section with the Spanish bit at the monument, WTF was that all about, arty crap.
Then, if your watching someone about to blow something up, particularly something that has a glass wall 2 feet from your face, you might want to RUN, not just give a knowing nod. And wasps are hardy wee souls, I'm sure the majority of them would have just been blown out the glass unharmed, not 100% obliterated.
But, then again I might be in a bad mood today, plus why leave that poor idiot in the cupboard chocking to death for 3 weeks only to burn him at the end......

Also, a couple of bloopers:
- Did anyone notice, in the scene where Hilde visited Henry, she unzipped her coat when she entered the room, went over to look at the pictures, walked back to the middle if the room and, er, unzipped her coat! She was wearing different clothes under the coat too!
- According to MrsC, in the final ep, Elena was talking but her mouth wasn't moving!
