Ha- they would if they had the mclaren f1 engine in them as Quentin asserts. What garbage!

Love the fact that the ads are so short! Does no one want to advertise during the show?

I think a 6 series will be a much better investment than an 8 series

That was the best so far Jodie had her legs out, we get Paddy Hopkirk in a Mini even Alex Rileys bit today was actually watchable.

Paddy Hopkirk in a Mini on a rally stage - you can't go wrong.

I didn't know for certain but I thought that was untrue.

Shame the 635 had fake BBSs and dodgy number plate but did look nice.

It was also about 15k's worth, not 5!

Of all the things to single out in that junkyard that Coy's chap opted for the Crapi? Sure, it's as rare as a hot day in Scotland but it looked like someone had converted it into a pick-up and stuck a pram roof on the back. Then again it's old, it's a Ford so it must be worth the equivalent of a house deposit.. rolleyes

Very much enjoying the series though it has to be recorded so, as several have said, you can skip the cringeworthy intro, links, Jodie's pieces direct to camera and Quentin's adverts. Some of the features have been spot on - I can even stick through Alex Riley's segments, just. Wouldn't mind if he featured the Reliant Scimitar at some point in the future.

Fantastic to see Paddy Hopkirk behind the wheel bow

Wrong graphic for Gordini as it showed later R5 2nd Gen.And Gordini was not more expensive than a XR3

Chris said only 40 made and Willson later says only 30 made. The club says 37.Either way 50k is a bigg ask

But surely you would have understood that as "derived from" rather than the actual engine ?

I thought the Capri was a bit meh as well. And the BMW 850, it was featured some years ago in a classic car magazine and they warned that you can pick one up for a few grand but it'll cost you same again if the magic smoke escapes from any of its various electronic bits.

Fed up with Quentin's pooh-poohing of anything not worthy of his admiration. Is he modelling himself on Simon Cowell?

I thought the car lift in the middle of the Brooklands track was real , glad I did some research first , so as not to look silly and uninformed

Fair point, but Uncle Quentin comes across a bit too supercilious. I do actually like him most of the time, so maybe it's just when he goes into his "my dear, it's all too dreadful" Noel Coward mode.

Not too sure about the aftermarket stainless steel exhaust. It appeared to have a dent in it!

Amazed by Jodie Kidd skills with a rally car. She looked like a natural. I'm surprised she's not taken racing seriously a la Chris Boardman. I seem to remember she was also pretty handy in a Abarth 500 at Silverstone Classic some years ago.
