It's OK if you're a petrolhead, and understand these things, but for any rookie looking in, the term SL must have been confusing. The SL monika has been used since 1955 through to today.
Throughout the show QW referred to the R107 as the SL without any acknowledgement of the fact that there have always been other SL models. Annoyed me.
Indeed - it's almost as annoying as misspelling 'Moniker' ....Throughout the show QW referred to the R107 as the SL without any acknowledgement of the fact that there have always been other SL models. Annoyed me.

I didn't think too highly of the last episode as it revisited its earlier celebrity obsession. Tinie Tempah clearly has no knowledge or interest in cars and neither does Daisy Lowe, whom I'd never heard of before. Their pointless witterings pale in comparison, though to 'national treasure' Jennifer Saunders being given her own vanity feature with a Fiat 500, during which she she informed us of very little.

I didn't think too highly of it as he kept saying the R107 was a girl's car. I have an R107.Winky151 said:

When was it filmed ? well if you look at the Fiat 500 Jenifer Saunders was driving , the tax expred 11/13 , so either it was being driven on trade plates or untaxed
Or more likely it doesn't get used much & they've re-taxed it but not bothered to remove the old tax disc seeing as you don't get one to display now.Laurel Green said:
Quentin must have a few SLs he's finding hard to move on.
That's the impression I get every week.I thought the E-type was interesting, they are a great buy, but he just sold his...
To me this is just a bit of TV capitalising on the current classic car bubble, it will go pop, the shows will all disappear, they will then be re-run when the next bubble starts to form in about 15 or 20 years. Great to see some classic cars, but for me this is too short on detail and too much talking up prices, and the bits with the fancy computer wall thingy are cringe inducing...

I didn't think too highly of it as he kept saying the R107 was a girl's car. I have an R107.I am not at all impressed with this show. It is a attempt at a version of top gear using classic cars. The road trips are nothing about the cars. They are all about the food they are eating and the places they go. Fair enough but would like more details about the car. The studio stuff is very cringe worthy with Jodie and Quentin attempting banter that does not come off in any way. I must admit I will not be watching this again. In my personal Opinion Top gear was the best and always will be. Watching programs like this makes me so sad to see such a poor car programme on tv. I would rather there be no car programmes on tv than rubbish like this and 5th gear. Top gear did have it faults but at least it was a genuinely good programme to watch for car lovers and people who had no interest in cars. Both types of people would regularly enjoy the show. I am unsure this show will ever be successful. I am also concerned with the marketing that will soon arrive from Quentin trying to sell me a overpriced car warranty claiming that a new engine will cost me 3 million pounds.

right.....youre not keen then?Very pleased I do have a off button on tv. Now I have watched It I will not watch or complain again about it. I just thought I would share my personal opinion of the show. The only reason I posted a reply was to help other people who may be thinking of potentially watching the show make a decision if they would enjoy the show. The show is not for me at all but others may enjoy it.

You criticize the format ,but TG has the same format, i.e. not just the car ,and say TG has appeal to non car lovers ,err so does this program , think you put the program on determined not to like it Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
