Fantastic Four (Reboot): First trailer released
Discussion
I'm gonna repost what I typed on a mate's fb wall.
I haven't liked the previous FF films. Also...I am automatically inclined not to like it because the studio is churning out remakes just to deny the rights going back to Marvel Studios, which prevents the universe widening. For myself the only non Marvel Cinematic Universe films to have captured the magic of the characters and made decent films are the Toby Spider-Man ones.
I feel we are having a glut of superhero films and the other studios will run the concept into the ground by constantly churning out reboots to keep the rights....of course it may make Marvel look to more obscure characters, like Guardians of the Galaxy.
I didn't realise FF and XM are both the same studio....I can guess that there's no shared universe because FF was a flop last time and they don't wanna risk bringing the XM juggernaut down....or the studio aren't allowed to...contracts maybe?

Same as Spiderman until recent events, I just think Sony thought that cross overs wouldnt work. Too many stars etc etc. Marvel have proved them wrong, so much so they managed to pull Spiderman away from them. Watched this trailer last night.
It looks horrific and the dialogue is cringe-worthy. The script sounds like it was written by a 14 year old who stole the lines from any generic action film he could get his hands on. The CGI is poor at best; somehow they have actually managed to make The Thing and Dr Doom look worse than the previous films.
I'm actually gobsmacked at how much of a backwards step this appears to be and it seems to confirm the notion that this is purely a quick cash-in so that Fox can retain the rights.

Feel free to offer a different term. It's better than many, especially in this genre - it didn't have Matt Damon spontaneously and inexplicably beating up a woman he had never previously met, or Tom Hardy giving his lines seemingly with a mouth full of underpants, or Jack Nicholson on acid. I nearly gave it a six just for being a well made comic book film. But I didn't warm to the characters, feel any real tension, or laugh.
