Top Gear Audience (again)

So, after quite some time waiting, I have tickets to see the show being made next month.
This may have been done before but:
The tickets say they "request" a 50/50 split male/female. Is this compulsory? My OH can't get the time off and I'd like to take my Dad
What is the best time for arrival? From reading past threads; if you turn up at the posted 1345 time, you risk being turned away?

You need to get there early. They have people directing the cars in the car park. There is an area with a food and drinks truck (very expensive! Take your own grub) and a couple of huts that sell merchandise. You will be waiting around outside for a fair while, so wrap up warm. Once everyone's arrived, they will walk you round to the hangar/studio. If you want to actually appear on telly, you will have more chance if you turn up with a other half that isn't a Munter, they give out wristbands to people that are deemed "TV friendly" and you then get told where to stand for the particular segment that gets filmed. There are many of these, you get stood around various cars, the couch area etc. it's a very long day but a really good laugh, they are all really approachable and are happy to stand about chatting, signing autographs etc. filming finishes around 4.30 in the afternoon.

No its fine, you can go with your Dad. When I was lucky enough to go a couple of years ago I went with three other lads from work. Its just an attempt to get the audience balanced up a bit thats all.

I went a few years ago and we all got wristbands. I did not knowing see any deliberate attempts to sort people out or tell them where to stand outside of basic stage management. There were certainly people who wanted to be seen and made the effort to get to the front, but no more than that.Cerberaherts said:
Different colours. Yellow for "front row.." There are people who manage the audience, just like all shows.
Maybe they have changed it, but I got silver coloured on the way in. Perhaps that meant so ugly they should be at the back in the dark, which to be fair is where I was. But I thought that was my choice at the time..Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
