You're unhappy with a young lad from London who within the space of about 2 years has gone from working in a bar to winning 4 Grammys, without any X Factor ste? Not to mention the production from Jimmy Napes and Disclosure.
I don't think it's his success that people are worried about, it's the fact his music is absolutely awful. biggrin

No and good luck to him. His voice just seems a bit lightweight for a Bond tune. We'll see!

I don't even know who he is.

Is he in a popular beat combo?

I thought you were talking about Ed Sheerhan until I went back a page. Both are awful choices, by the way. Should have got Lethal Bizzle to do it, but maybe they're saving him for when Idris Elba is 007.

That was my reaction as well.

Now, where are my pipe and slippers.

There is one Sam Smith song I don't mind too much but I find his voice is just a little too high pitched for me. I prefer a bit more of a manly Frank Sinatra type sound. Will wait to see what the song is like first.

Odeon recently opened a new Imax about 2 miles away from me. Was looking at tickets last night. For Imax Gallery (better seats and I think free nachos/pop corn) it was £24 for a normal ticket or for the Martini package it was £32! All you get is a pissy bottle of vodka martini for that extra £8 yikes

The wife was thinking of coming but that would be £64 for a night at the cinema, plus we would have to pay for a baby sitter. If includes all you can eat Nachos though I will get my moneys worth.

There is a story that when the Scottish lass was in the studio to record "The World is not Enough", she said expressed her concern that her voice wouldn't do justice to a Bond theme, and the response was along the lines of "Don't worry love, you can't be any wors than Aha".

Obviously I have no first hand knowledge of this, and if Aha's lawyers are reading my this, I completely dissociate myself from the previous paragraph.

I was shocked the other day to find out that the female backing vocals (played by an elderly actress Tina Karanek in the video) to Electric Six's High Voltage were sung by Jack White. Although perhaps not surprised.

Oh I don't know, he has a wide range. There was that slow song about loving someone he can't be with, the slow one he did about not being able to be with his love, or the one about how he can't be with his lover (the slow one)

Who watches Bond films for the theme music?

I'm more interested in the film content

Most would argue that it's a fairly crucial element in the formula, particularly as the theme is often referred to by the score, thus having a direct impact on the film content.
