Have just been listening to Amy Winehouse. I reckon she might have given us the greatest Bond theme of all.

She would have been right up there. My pick of the currently living would be The Last Shadow Puppets

They should have let Dennis Waterman have a bash. He likes doing theme tunes.
'I could be so good for you' was better than this dire effort.
Someone on the news/talk show/summat referenced that the other day, she was talking about atheme tune and then said whenever she says that phrase, she always thinks of, 'rite the feem toon, sing the feem toon.'

Sounds awful.

Movie will, no doubt, more than make up for it.

Console yourself with a new video regarding the action in the new movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej9kDTw6RgA

Not sure "one hit wonders" would be quite the right term for either Alex Turner or Miles Kane wink but yes, LSP was a one-off side project with no real future. Still, their sound was pure old-school Bond.

Yes I was being ironic because I am disappointed they have never followed up their first album which I really liked.

I really liked the song. Sounds great with the full band behind it.

Great choice for the theme tune.

I'm afraid Adele set the bar pretty high in the modern era.

It's not horrendous but I'm really not a fan especially the high pitched squeaky bit in the middle.

Has this been linked yet? It was uploaded in April so I thought it must've been, but I can't find it in the thread.

Youtube - The supercars of SPECTRE

The Jaguar is yummy - some XJ220-esque lines around the nose and front wheel arches IMHO...

The Sam Smith song sucks, what a stupid choice of singer for the Bond franchise. And it sounds a bit like Michael Jackson's Earth Song in places.

They've been building up this song for weeks now and I've heard it twice, but for me it was disappointing and underwhelming. I think it will be remembered as being instantly forgettable. biggrin

Well, if you're going to nick other people's stuff, better to do it do dead people.

My mate and I are going to see Spectre together (wives aren't interested rolleyes). He has a V8 Vantage and I have a Defender. It'll be like a discount version of the film in the car park. biggrin

And yeah, the Sam Smith song is pretty dreadful. I liked the Skyfall song, but the other Daniel Craig Bond songs have been ste. Fantastic films, though.

"You Know My Name" has really grown on me over the years - I think it's a great Bond tune.

Agreed. Much better than the lightweight pop-crap that has come since. Casino Royale is an excellent film. When Craig shot the MI6 section chief backwards off his chair at the start with "yessssss......considerably....." just as Chris Cornell kicked-in I knew it was going to be great. Haven't heard the SPECTRE theme yet....

Bond songs are best when they are loud and dramatic.
This one sounds like a love song, maybe its a about betrayed love between Bond and Bill Tanner.
Maybe that's what inspired the "emotion" in the song.

Chris Cornell did the best song out of the Daniel Craig films by miles. I've never been a fan of the skyfall theme, especially with the rhyming of 'stumble, crumble, fumble, bumble... etc'.

Really dislike the Sam Smith song. It never seems to get going, but somehow the falsetto seems to have lodged itself in my head rage

I take back the bad things I've said about the Sam Smith song. Now that I've heard it more, I actually really like it. boxedin

Cornell smashed it, corking tune.

Skyfall meh.... Rhyming skyforl with crumborl by way of cockney was awful.

Keep hoping they'll let Matt Bellamy and Muse have a crack at one, just so long as he doesn't turn it into a Queen song.
