Whilst the first page of the TvF&R forum is full of Clarkson/TopGear related threads, the Fifth Gear thread languishes on Page 4.
Whilst I'm a fan of Tiff, VBH and Jonny Smith they just don't have the budget or scripts to be anything other than 'meh'.
Driving a Bentley and 911 around town discussing how good the heaters are, and then a lap of the track (has anyone ever seen a convertible (modern) Bentley on a track day?) when the 'real world' test would be to road trip them from London to Warsaw.
Team test of yet another strange variant of the Fiat 500 (MINI as just as bad, trying to get every niche covered by something sort of resembling the core vehicle) - to be any use as a consumer review they need to finish their conclusions by saying what the best in class is, we didn't learn if the 500X is better than a Mini Paceman or a Juke or a more traditional hatchback.
The old Polish car segment was the most interesting, but even amongst petrolheads classic cars are a big turn off unless it's an old supercar.
Tiff in a rallycar was a bit nothing-y as well, although it showed the different approach to driving needs from his usual track style.
I record Fifth Gear but spend most of the time fast forwarding through all of it. Im bored of the whole car shoot out, and only really watch the team test, secondhand car purchases, and maybe something Jonny does. Its pretty boring other than that, and no wonder its falling into cable channel obscurity

I have to say I thought Harris was very good. I've only ever seen him before in YouTube videos where he comes across as being very informed but rather nerdy. I was surprised that he interacted so well with Neddell and could easily be a good replacement for Plato should he not return
They had the same kind of chemistry as him and Plato. worked really well together and we're genuinely entertaining. Would be good to have them together for the whole series next time. Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
