US show Person of Interest - Any good?

Should also say that, aside from the sheer geekery of its premise, what makes this show utterly fantastic is the depth of the backstory to *every* character.

Every time we get a flash-backed piece of exposition, we just get dragged further into the motivations of the characters. So rare for a show of this type.

And, to cap it all, every line by Reese and Shaw is pure cheese. Without the contrast, it would get too plot-heavy for its own good.

Halfway through I thought it would have been a good episode to go to the mid season break on. Then the ending.

I had a feeling something had to happen to Carter during S3, as when I started watching Empire on E4 a few weeks ago I noticed Taraji had been cast in the lead female role. Given how both shows are 20+ episode runs there was no way she was going to be in both.
