Not surprised by the result tonight, it seemed a fair decision.

Are they supposed to be in awe when the person who set the brief walks in? Because who's in awe of her? She's just a critic very few people have heard of. Big whoop!

I think they are told to be pretend to be in awe, to add gravitas to the situation. Of course, when it comes to marking, just as with the round where they have to cook for the table of critics, John and Greg seem to put almost no stock in the critic's opinion and choose their own winners. The critics are really only there for a different opinion, albeit one that makes no difference to the eventual outcome of the competition.
