One chef well ahead at every step of the competition so far - will the curse of the Masterchef final episode befall him?

Paul is off though, if you can't cook a bit of salmon at this stage you're not worth keeping on.

Yup.

Simons got to be the run away winner. Haven't seen anyone else get close and and I can't remember him making a mistake yet

Really? I think Tony's been more consistent in terms of solid dishes and presentation but Simon's been a little more inventive and as you say, no real errors. However, it's masterchef and Emma's been the most improved and has been in it on flavour and imagination from the off, it's just the presentation that's been off and yet she's still there.

If I had money on it I'd call Tony, but there's no way I'd put money on it.

Agreed. He has been fairly steady until now, but I think he'll peak at the crucial time.

This Ekstedt place looks amazing. I need to get out there and try it.

Scallop inferno, chef intervention, oh dear.
I thought the same. Luckily I'm out in Stockholm for a wedding in July, so I'm going to try and book.

If I'm reading the Ekstedt menu correctly, it's £349.00 for the 4 course menu, and an eye watering £705.00 for the 7 course menu!

Wowzer!

http://ekstedt.nu/english/menu/

It's priced in Krona, not Euros, so it's 790 for four, so £60

Well, that makes a little more sense.

I think that Simon has been the most consistent, Tony the most creative and Emma the most hearty food. I'd happily eat any of their cooking, but at this stage it only takes a small mistake to be out. They all could win, but I think that Tony and Simon are most likely.

Just a tad. hehe

Mind, the bill will soon escalate after a few drinks.

No idea if they do participate but, would certainly go a long way in easing one's mind when ordering the drinks. biggrin

Some very good food on show tonight. Massimo obviously does a good job with his QC checks.

I had a look at the current menus today. 790 Swedish kroner for 4 courses, 990 for seven (so about £60 and £75 respectively). I'm still intending to book and go while I'm in Stockholm and sod the cost of the booze. It'll be a one off treat (assuming I can get a reservation) and I'll be Billy no mates on my own anyway!

Maybe, but as a customer I would have been disappointed not to be served something to go with the red mullet main course.

Some very good cooking but a lot goes to Massimo in generating the menu! Love to taste his food!

Hopefully 3 good dishes for a good end of the series!

Nice to get a bit of background on them all and see the hard work and sacrifices they've made to get this far on the show.

Don't want any of them to lose now really.
