Tony certainly seems to know and produce some great stuff; early days, but think he will be there at the end.
What was the result last night? I missed the last 10 mins.

thanks

[Stuff to do with appearing on the show]
Welcome to PistonHeads, D.

It's interesting to have someone contributing to this thread who has actually been there, done that and splashed red wine jus on the T-shirt. Here is the opportunity for PHers to get authoritive answers to a myriad questions about the behind-the-scenes workings of Masterchef - if you were willing to share your insider knowledge.

To get the ball rolling, I'm always dubious about the way that everybody always manages to just finish exactly on the dot at the end of the alloted time. Obviously that can't actually happen, & it must be down to clever editing - but how exactly does that work?scratchchin

Also, when the judges are tasting the dishes, if you're the last one to bring your dish forward, how do you stop it going cold while you're waiting your turn?

I prefer that to the way they used to while away the judges' pow-wow time, sitting around the lounge studiously ignoring each other.

It did look like a st 1980's LP cover didn't it! I was shattered by then and my mind had given up. You're alright, I've got mates sending me posters of pigeons and carrots!

What do you have to do to get through to the TV rounds as this girl is rubbish.
Our new PHer could probably confirm this but I understand that the contestants don't cook before they get on the show - it's all vetted by questionnaire.

Perhaps the scariest sentence in the English language...

Greg Wallace saying "I've loosened my belt and I'm ready to go..."

Potato in a bun, sounds st.

This is supposed to be Masterchef, not "cook what people can make when they get in from work and have nothing in the fridge-chef".

I thought the opposite. Takes balls to do something so simple and do it well.

I'm sat here. Wife gone out for the evening so on my own. Kitchen shut up shop. All I could muster up from our fully stocked fridge/larder was a shin-cup (Chinese pot noodle) and 4 Belgium beers wink classy me!
