While I'm thinking of it, is this the Fiat Dino Brewer drove back from Italy a few years ago?

The giveaway is the centre console. They replaced the original faded wooden veneer with black Vinyl so I'd say it's the same

The dealer is taking the pee with the asking price. They sold it for £25k and it's not appreciated by that much in 5 years.

WHEELER DEALERS FINISHED!!!.........Apparently.

Just seen a funding pitch by Attaboy productions, the makers of Wheeler Dealers, on my FB page. They're pushing another car restoration package. In the accompanying blurb, they mention that? "It's the end of the road for us. We won't be producing any more episodes" of Wheeler Dealers.

This could mean one of two things. Either WD is finished. Or, another production company is taking over.......

I may be wrong, but I don't think Attaboy produced series 13 (the last one just finished based in the states).
I'm pretty sure I've seen Mike mention a UK series due this year on his Facebook page?

I guess they've simply changed producers.

"For full details or to arrange a walk around video please contact our high octane Sales Team"

High octane Sales Team? Seriously? That puts me off even before the price.

Edit: I also notice it has "13600 kilometres miles" which reads almost like one of Sniff Petrol's car adverts. smile

I recall they made a big deal on Wheeler Dealers mentioning it had a dodgy first owner who went to prison for being in the Mafia.

Seems an easy way to explain away any problems, Mafia did it.

Watched this one again recently, I'm still puzzled as to why Brewer wanted to ditch the original orange carpet for a new black one. Fabulous car though. Certain episodes of WD are worth repeated viewings, I always enjoy watching the one they did on the Lamborghini Urraco.

Agreed. The Fiat Dino and the Lamborghini Urraco episodes are my two faves, and I have watched them both many times. yes

Urraco is one of the best. I'm just not liking the Americanised Wheeler Dealers that much. Everything just seems very forced. I know Wheeler Dealers in England always had bits which were rehearsed the deal making and introductions when he went to visit the house and they opened the door instantly.

I too have not liked these very Americanised versions so much. I usually keep them all on my Sky planner until I buy the series box set when it's available. I haven't kept one episode of the current series, and may not buy it when it's released on DVD. And I have them all!

Agree on the US shows, although I enjoyed the Porsche 912 episode.

Re the Ferrari 308GT4 / Fiat Dino / Urraco episodes - there's always a feel good factor when they plump for European exotica, I wish they'd do more of these. I shan't hold my breath though, the days of finding a decent Italian V6 or V8 project for around £20k are probably long gone! Would love to see them tackle a Merak, Bora, or even a V12 Espada...

was it the Quattraporte show where he went to a guy working in a shed? I love seeing stuff like that the Lambo stuck against the wall with square tyres was also a great show.

Someone in a shed fixed their throttle position sensor for their Maserati Coupe...3200 I think?

I watched the old Lotus Elan episode the other day. What spoils it for me is when in a long shot of the car a particular component can be clearly seen fitted and then later Edd is shown fitting it. Why isn't the programme in the correct order.

On the Lotus edition he was shown fitting a yellow rear plate but when it was at Gurston it had a black and white one. Is it just bad continuity?

Yes it was the 3200 Coupe episode. A QP on WD...... now there's an idea... wink

Saw a beautiful burgundy QPV on the M6 yesterday, still hankering after one.

They did. That's exactly the sort of episodes I miss. Not this yank daftness.

Sealed unit according to Maserati but all the guy did was heat the seal and bingo it popped open, also from memory I think he just changed a few magnets inside all for the bargain price of £300 or £400. Unit from Maserati was something stupid like £3k.

I seem to recall it was a sliding potentiometer with a carbon track, and the carbon wears away. It was indeed something ridiculous like £2k-odd, and a sealed unit with tamper-proof fixings. A quite breathtaking example of price gouging, as once the man in the shed had opened it up, it was a fairly trivial fix.

The whole car was a bodge job when they bought it - one of the two throttle pots had failed and someone had bodged it so the remaining one was supplying signal for both rather than replacing the failed one.

I found the whole episode rather depressing actually, not only because of how many bodges that Edd had to fix, but also the fact that Maserati had designed so many things to be expensive to replace for no other reason than shafting customers in the wallet.

I liked the Dodge Charger episode. There were a few seasons when Mike would go to...somewhere (in this case America, but they also bought stuff back from Italy and France etc), but it and some bits, then fix it back here.

I also really liked the V12 E-type one.

Not only it is unique, so one of a kind, but extremely unique so one of a kind.

I can't say I'd buy a car that was used in WD.
