I've finally given up on WD, the Stateside super-slick production gets on my tits and IMO it's lost its slightly rough and ready charm. I stumbled on to Shed & Buried recently with Henry Cole and Sam Lovegrove, what a great TV series, their enthusiasm is infectious and Sam is the motorcycle version of Edd China, it feels a bit like Wheeler Dealer used to be.
I love shed & buried. There's a chemistry between Henry and Sam that seems to have withered away on WD. Having said that, I'll not give up on the WD boys.Hainey said:
It's now aimed at the high fructose corn syrup American with the attention span of a plum tomato who needs recaps, fast cut editing and loud bass heavy music every 20 second edit to stay interested and not turn over and watch 'retards in the forest making moonshine' or 'Roswell, the new evidence. Honest' or some other pile of made for idiot telly.
Very funny, true and well crafted wordsmithing - respect.Blue One said:

Very funny, true and well crafted wordsmithing - respect.I wrote it not long after talking with my Dr mate who lives in Texas, and who is depressingly seeing 20(!)yr olds needing heart stents due to having lived a life of obesity fueled by nothing but processed food and zero exercise. I'll admit it coloured my inflections somewhat.
Having just watched the final episode of the current series which is a recap( extended scene is permanently plastered across the screen in case you weren't aware of what was going on) I thought that some of the bits omitted were quite interesting. It's a shame they weren't used instead of the recrap shown after every ad break in regular episodes. I wonder what happens to WD now but with a new series of CAR SOS due soon I'm not overly fussed.

I just wrote pretty much the same thing on their facebook page. Bring back Eds low budget satin black rattle cans !
I started watching the latest episode but turned it off after a while as EXTENDED SCENE in huge letters taking up a quarter of the screen was really off-putting and after a fairly short while I thought to myself "I really can't be arsed with this".
Maybe I will come back to it later.

It's worth a look; some interesting out-take and off-script stuff there.
But yes, the huge lettering was over the top.

Anyway, the episode was ok in the end but I still found it a little lacklustre.
