I went to the pub for the first time in a long time last night...it was nice, my vague headache this morning..not so nice.

Aeropilot - Thanks for the headsup!

You mean the things everybody has already spent the rest of the weekend doing?

I very much doubt it....give the moving wallpaper a rest.

We don't need to, but perhaps you should consider doing something else with the rest of your weekend if you've had enough TV by Sunday evening?

'We' good to see you speak for 'others' I only watch selected programs and probably no more than about three hours a week, always mute the adverts they are just imbecilic. What passes for 'Entertainment' beggars belief.

Bruce Springsteen nails it with 57 Channels and nothings on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAlDbP4tdqc&li...

Theres a lot of life to live without being in front of the TV

'We' (ie my household) also mostly only watch what we record, and fast-forward through the adverts - or download. This week's viewing has been the F1 and my wife's continuing exploration of Grey's Anatomy on demand. I added The Walking Dead and an attempt to sit through the bilge that is Fifth Gear. She spent most of Saturday at an orchestra rehearsal and I spent most of Saturday evening at the performance. She had to catch up with some work on Sunday so I went out for lunch with a friend and her daughter and then we went for a long walk in the park.

Top Gear was one of the handful of things that we actually did record and find time to watch. I largely agree with Mr Springsteen (and Mr Waters, when he found only 14 channels of sh*t to choose from). I'm beginning to wonder if we can find a way to get everything we want from on-demand services, in which case we can bin the live to air equipment and tell TV licencing to poke it.

Indeed, but when you don't actually watch much TV and are a bit miffed that one of the few shows you did watch has been canned, the "Why Don't You?" line isn't much consolation!

Well, it seems like he'll be back soon, hosting HIGNFY on 24th April.

Can't help thinking they are setting him up for a roasting which could be great or a bit cringe-worthy

I hope HIGNFY note the irony of a tired format desperately in need of a revamp. They tried to 'roast' Angus Deaton about his recreational habits about a million years ago and they came out of it looking the bigger tools IMHO.

I also suspect that having had Hammond an May unite behind him, it would look bad to go off and do a solo gig, leaving them high and dry?
