It's probably because they've brought in a new producer and they didn't see eye to eye. Having said that, it's my understanding that Juan Belgrano Galtieri Ardiles-Peron isn't the easiest bloke to get on with.

BBC news article updated

Clarkson was given what he called his "final warning" last May after claims he used a racist word while filming the popular BBC motoring show.

At the time, he said the BBC had told him he would be sacked if he made "one more offensive remark, anywhere, at any time".

Does that suggest he's said something offensive again then ?

Typical "pc correct" BBC. Just like in school nowadays, punish the whole class for one unruly pupil i.e. Clarkson acts up so the rest of us get no Top Gear.
Now if the blues would only replace CMD with Clarkson they might get a few more votes... smile

Chris is doing well doing his own thing. I don't think he'd suit modern Top Gear. That said, I can't imagine anyone else replacing either of the 3.

This is ludicrous. Just when we thought the P1 and LaF were going to be tested against each other, along comes the BBC HR department.

They'd fall out with their own f*cking shadow.

Never mind, we can have an extra period drama or celebrity dancing programme, or maybe a sustainable transport show. Yippee.

Must be about something a bit contentious in the script for Sundays show that JC liked, and the producer didn't.

This thread is already turning into stereotypical Top Gear.

Premis 1: Clarkson is suspended.
Premis 2: We'd like the other person to be at fault as we don't like top gear.

We have NO other information.

Conclusion: I know the work of snivelling lefties when I see it!! Jeremy Clarkson was presumably being correct on something, when some blydi lefty liberal lovely at PC Beeb decided to get offended and got him suspended - because they cant handle the truth! Its exactly what is wrong with the media/Britain/the car industry/the reason my dog wont stop stting on the carpet/why my wife is sleeping with my mate. My well honed PH sense means this is a certainty!!

We know fk all.

It could be fking anything.

But no, we at PH know EVERYTHING - as long as its based exclusively on what we WANT to have happened.

But what the hell, everyone loves a good guess.

I thought that Top Gear was the most successful program/ thing the BBC have ever done so I can't see them axing it tbh.
Doesn't Mr Clarkson own the rights to TG anyway but Imagine Top Gear on SKY with an even bigger budget!

I'll continue to follow Clarkson whatever happens, seems to be the last person left in the public eye not afraid to voice an opinion.

Sad times indeed, the BBC once again proving that they are so far up their own arse that they can practically see daylight again. Hopefully they'll realise what a mistake they're making and change their minds.

If Clarkson and Co decided to take Top Gear to another network or format then I would definitely still watch it. In fact I would positively support them doing so, I can't stand what the BBC has become nowadays, IMO it really is time to rethink their funding model (i.e. stop paying them the license fee).
