Inevitable for someone who'd been believing his own hype for too long.

IMO the show should stop now. There are still the odd flashes of a great show but more and more of it is becoming cringingly bad - that Peugeot piece a couple of weeks ago was the worst piece of TV I've seen in years. Its as though they now actually believe that are comedy gods as opposed to middle aged car journo's.

If the BBC sack him I suspect they will be cutting their own nose off. Whatever you think of him, he's made TG as popular as it is.

JC can't claim he wasn't warned about his conduct, or that he was unaware that the knives were being sharpened on the top floor.

It would be such a shame if this was the end of TG, because the current series has at times been as good as they have ever been.

Reuters saying he murdered one of the show's producers and wanted to wear their skin on the next episode. Typical namby-pamby BBC wouldn't allow it. Political correctness gone mad, lunatics running the asylum, country going to the dogs, etc.

I was there last week (mx5, low drag jag etc) and JC said the producer was away that week. They cracked on and got the filming done very quickly. They had to as they were off to Yorkshire that evening to do more filming. They have a long series this year, 12 I believe, and I know they haven't filmed anywhere near enough to fill the series. They're up against it and my theory is that JC blew up about it. Must say, I was very impressed with all 3 of them last week, relaxed, sharp, professional, swift, funny. Was a great day, maybe the last ever!

With Argentina in the news today and the tragedy of the French helicopter deaths, it would only take an underhand statement from JC in rehearsals to force them into this situation. Remember the n word issue was not even in the show, it was a cutting room floor piece that was dragged up by someone...

...and on that bombshell...

what the "i dont like top gear" people dont get is a lot of us are annoyed at losing what clarkson represents not the loss of an entertainment show. the freedom to say what you like, tongue in cheek, to banter, to have fun with friends, without some jumped up tt with no life taking offence on behalf of someone else.

This, totally. He is the foundation of the show as it stands, and its popularity is totally down to him.

Way to go beeb, kill off one of your most profitable shows. Although we don't know what was said ...

Like I said there are still odd moments that are good and I still enjoy exotic cars being filmed beautifully.

Hopefully it'll still be published to iTunes as I've already paid for the season pass!

It's nice to hear the boys having a go at each other unbleeped.
You pay for top gear? It's free on iplayer!

We (well most of us) love the show, but it's still a business.

If you were running a company and your star salesman just undermined your authority over and over again, and gave the distinct impression that they believed they were untouchable, would you just let them carry on, or would you fire them?

Obviously it's much more fashionable to assume the worst of the BBC and put Clarkson on a pedestal, but he's had numerous "talks" with management and still seems dedicated to being unruly. Maybe it's best for the BBC if they do part company.

No one man (or show) is bigger than the corporation.

So because he's done that he's entitled to behave like a complete c**t?

The same argument was had with Andy Gray and Richard Keys...

This thread is already turning into stereotypical Top Gear.

Premis 1: Clarkson is suspended.
Premis 2: We'd like the other person to be at fault as we don't like top gear.

We have NO other information.

Conclusion: I know the work of snivelling lefties when I see it!! Jeremy Clarkson was presumably being correct on something, when some blydi lefty liberal lovely at PC Beeb decided to get offended and got him suspended - because they cant handle the truth! Its exactly what is wrong with the media/Britain/the car industry/the reason my dog wont stop stting on the carpet/why my wife is sleeping with my mate. My well honed PH sense means this is a certainty!!

We know fk all.

It could be fking anything.

But no, we at PH know EVERYTHING - as long as its based exclusively on what we WANT to have happened.

But what the hell, everyone loves a good guess.
Internet would be a bit boring if we weren't allowed to suggest anything other than what's been directly fed to us.
