Reuters saying he murdered one of the show's producers and wanted to wear their skin on the next episode. Typical namby-pamby BBC wouldn't allow it. Political correctness gone mad, lunatics running the asylum, country going to the dogs, etc.

what the "i dont like top gear" people dont get is a lot of us are annoyed at losing what clarkson represents not the loss of an entertainment show. the freedom to say what you like, tongue in cheek, to banter, to have fun with friends, without some jumped up tt with no life taking offence on behalf of someone else.
This.
Do you honestly think the things he's said have been acceptable? The "slope" incident and the n****r song?

Daily Fail article is as ridiculous as you'd expect, though they did state that this Sunday was meant to be the episode where they went on track at Japfest, Castle Combe last May...

Was looking forward to that frown

yes i do if you take them in context as a joke. i didnt even know what a slope was until someone got offended for me. clarkson is running a charity auction round here in 4 weeks time. why. he's a top bloke. he may say some wrong things occasionally - have you never?

He didn't say n***** though. He mumbled where it should have been, realised it sounded bad so reshot the piece and aired a different one.

IMO the show should stop now. There are still the odd flashes of a great show but more and more of it is becoming cringingly bad - that Peugeot piece a couple of weeks ago was the worst piece of TV I've seen in years. Its as though they now actually believe that are comedy gods as opposed to middle aged car journo's.
Still hugely popular, and there's very little else car related on TV to watch. The American stuff is dire, the various Wheeler Dealer clones get samey pretty quickly. There's a new series of 5th Gear on the History Channel, and it is *awful*.

Ohhh...he's a "top bloke"...fair enough then, he should be allowed to use whatever racially offensive language he wants.

I suspect Marty doesn't say these wrong things to an audience of millions.

He admitted saying it "unintentionally".

I can happily say I have never said "n****r" or slope in a racial context.

I don't think everything he's said has been acceptable, but I'd rather we had a few people around saying unacceptable things than the alternative. Once we remove Clarkson then then next most offensive person becomes the most offensive person, then they get removed too. Then the next, then the next, then the next, etc. until eventually breathing at the wrong speed is considered offensive. This PC nonsense needs nipping in the bud before it turns the world into a colourless, flavourless, silent mass of nothingness.

The same argument was had with Andy Gray and Richard Keys...
We ALL joke about the opposite sex, and we ALL engage in a bit of banter.

Why, when TV or radio presenters do it, do thousands of people, and wet-ass liberal tv companies switch straight into Mary Whitehouse mode and claim to be offended.

It's 2015 ffs, not 1955.

Clarkson and co should split off from the BBC and broadcast the show entirely online. Make it a small fee per episode or something - with the worldwide audience they have they'd be absolutely rolling in it.
