Guy Martin is my choice as main presenter and would be better to have weekly guest(s) supporting presenters instead of the present fixed threesome TG line up. But please never anyone like that annoying Jay Kay (Jamiroquai) or any others of his ilk that lay claim to being petrol heads, only because they are wealthy enough to afford a super exotic car collection. Otherwise almost any premier footballer could qualify for the job as well.

The answer is 'nobody' as Top Gear is dead.

Guy Martin seems surprised about it https://www.facebook.com/GuyMartinRacing?fref=nfbiggrin

Didn't Jay Kay hold the fastest SIARPC time on Top Gear for some time? I assume he needs to be a bit of a petrol head to manage that.

Yup although it hasn't really sunk in yet with many others it seems. There may be a show with the same name with some brave souls intent on fading into obscurity hosting it but it won't be the TopGear we know.

The TG reasonably priced car lap times here see - http://topgear.wikia.com/wiki/Star_in_a_Reasonably...

Don't think the BBC would take the risk with JK (real name Jason Cheetham) anyway, especially following the recent reported incident.

Record of Paparazzi confrontations;
In 2001, Kay was charged with assaulting a photographer and damaging his camera outside a nightclub. Kay pleaded not guilty, and the charges were later dropped.[15] On 12 September 2006, Kay was cautioned by police over an incident outside a London nightclub. He allegedly assaulted two photographers.

Its a no brainer -- replace all three of them with Eddie Jordan, David Coulthard and Suzie Perry. Eddie and David have huge, massive knowledge of all things motoring, and in David we have an inbuilt Stig. Plus neither of them are backwards in coming forward, should something controversial need to be said. And Suzie is just great -- knowledgeable, vivacious, entertaining! Whats not to like?
I would not mind retaining Hammond, but May should definitely go teaching, which he has apparently said he might do. Its well known that he is extremely intelligent, so why he persists in acting like a complete dipstick is beyond me. I know its all part of a big act, but the joke is now well past it's sell by date. So, good-bye JC; have a nice life. It was nice knowing you............for a while.

Everything.

I hate F1 and it's presenters wouldn't make me watch Top Gear at all.

Possible end of this thread - replace Clarkson with.....Clarkson

(This may turn out to be balls, lets wait and see if it's confirmed by a newspaper!)

That was published before Clarkson failed to get his contract renewed so I doubt very much that's on the cards now.

Agreed. Its like a band losing the lead singer (as somebody has already said). You can get another singer, but they either needs to be a faux version of the former, or come up with their own brand. Either way its not the same thing. Given that they all may not go back then you have a fribute band.

Clarkson is a talented writer, and that comes out in his narative on screen. Its not good enough just point out facts, or be a petrolhead. You need to express yourself well, with a dab of humour. If it were easy then every channel would have a sucessful car based TV show.

Definitely this - some people seem to think he just reads a script and could be replaced by anyone.

Johnny Vaughan might be good.

I must admit, I was watching the F1 qualifying earlier and thought they make a great combination
