Am I the only one who doesn't see the hype about Chris Evans? I know his a massive petrolhead and has a great car collection, but I think Top Gear would be awful with him hosting.
Chris Evans, No, no, no.His scratchy, excited voice is awful. He's annoying enough on the radio and you can't even see him on there.

"For many years, art critic Brian Sewell has been a devoted fan of Stock Car Racing. In this programme, he explores his passion for these battered beasts of the race track, as he visits the Wimbledon Stadium "The programme isn't available on iPlayer now, but was quite amazing - the poshest bloke in the country chatting to people of an, err, less affluent background, in the paddock.

Can't we just keep the same line-up but view the show on a different channel? All the other proposed names can then do their thing on the Beeb where whether the show is any good or not is of no consequence.
The BBC own the format I believe, and other channels may well be over influenced by advertisers and less free to film 3 old gits ttting about!Although people say that Clarkson is Top Gear, Agnes was (thought at the time to be) have I got news and Humph was (ditto) ISIHAC and they've both continued quite happily with new presenters.
My bet is that it will all go quite for a bit and he'll be back in a few months.

A lot on PH moan about TG not being about cars enough; if it was it would be like old TG of Fifth Gear with no mass-market appeal.
I don't care if TG (or whatever replaces it) has mass-market appeal. I'd just like a good TV show about cars. The occasional buffonery was fine, but Clarkson and Wilman took the scripted jokes and lies too far.
A reboot suits me fine.

I feel sorry for the technicians and behind the scenes freelancers who are now out of pocket, rather than the BBC having a kangaroo court enquiry chaired by a bunch of Grauniad reading left wingers why not let the alleged victim make a complaint to the police.
If the police decide to presecute and if found guilty then let Clarkson go, if a I suspect the CPS decide not to bother then the BBC have been seen to do the right thing and can say hand on heart that no crime has been commited so they will not be taking any further action.
If he is prosecutede succesfully I suspect a new car show on ITV or Channel 4 will be up and running produced by Andy Wilman before long.
