Its not how long it was for, its what was said. I can't remember the exact wording but it was basically "Nandos is better than KFC".
I've never been to Nando's and only once to KFC but afaik it is better. Or at least purports to be better. KFC weren't trying to be anything they're not, the numerous references to "it's chicken and chips" making the point. And again afaik Nando's is less fast food and more family sit down fare so they're not in direct competition as maybe Chicken Cottage or McD's.

I thought in general they came across quite well. Attitude to staff, quality control, growth and job creation etc. Big businesses can spend £100k on a 30s ad in prime time, this was 180 minutes of largely positive brand exposure on BBC1. No question they'll have worked out what it was worth to them, and I'd love to know.

By far the most disgusting aspect of the show was those horrid old NIMBY's demanding they don't want a KFC in their little town. They're all long past the age of needing to care about employment etc. Spare some thoughts for the 50 teenagers who are desperate for a job you vile old .

She will most likely be in one of the Lads' mags before the end of the year and offered a spot in the next celeb Big Brother.

She won't be slinging chicken for much longer.

Has anyone else (ahem) browsed the latest copy of a certain magazine yet? It is oddly quiet in here, perhaps there was mass heart failure.

I'm taking bets for when she appears on one of 'those' channels...

Although she looks amazing in the photographs, IMO it's a bit too glam- she's more suited to a girl next door image.

Oddly enough I work for a company who provides 'those' channels and 'girl next door' is apparently what the British bloke wants from his porn. Very different to the Americans.

Anyways, I have watched all three episodes of chicken shop and I found it very good viewing and the three hour advert worked for me. I've wanted KFC ever since I watched the first episode! I've never been a regular eater of KFC, but I certainly fancy a bit now.

I live 15 miles north of the center of London and there are only small KFCs round here. I have to drive about 10 miles to a restaurant big enough to sit down in. I'm sure that will change in the future. However, I'd like to add that I don't want one on my doorstep!

From an (admittedly small) bunch of people I mentioned it to, not a single one thought it was a positive for them.

I think that pulled chicken looked cheap and nasty.
I too watched it in horror, on the basis the staff mocked them. Even the senior staff. I didn't like the cheese testing which was nothing more than making it more plastic and cheaper. The site inspections are a joke. Told when the revisit will happen. I don't eat their food as in the uk it's st. Whoever okay end the tv show should get sacked. I would bet a tidy sum their sales were hammered after the airing

I have mostly spoken to people who have said it made them fancy a KFC. I went for one last weekend which I doubt I would otherwise have done, ditto a fair few friends.

That's how food inspections work. The manager will be given a time frame to drag the store up to scratch, and he will be told "we will be back in two weeks, shape up or ship out", happens to all under-performing restaurants (imdian, chinese, KFC)HSE visit, the KFC model pre-empts a government inspection.

KFC manages to combine three things that I really dislike generally:

1) Fast food.
2) Deep fried food.
3) Eating with your hands.

They have a market, but don't try to pretend that it's somehow healthy FFS.
since when did they ever? (ignoring the docu where they talk about pulled pork)
I liked the part where they said that the pulled chicken was 'perceived' to be healthy when they knew full well that it isn't (based on the nutrition information).

It would probably take too long to cook and difficult to judge demand compared to the fried stuff that can be cooked in minutes.

Simple reason is the footprint of ovens, time vs the fried. The food would need to be precook end and reheat due which is a big no no.
