To me the very best thing they ever did on any episode was the best of British where they all ended up parked on the Mall in London.

this amazed me and the wife, we never knew so much was produced here.

my wife isn't a big fan, but she was crying with laughter at the hover van episode.

me i just like finding them on smile

* Britcar BMW
  • M3 CSL in the Isle of Man, and James and Richard going to the Isle of Man in the E34 M5, E30 M3 & M1.
  • The van in a man was great
  • When they bought cars for less than £100, James with the Audi, Clarkson in the Volvo and Hammond in the old man's Rover
  • One of my absolute favourites was when the 'Teenager challenge', anyone remember that?
  • When they showed loads of off road toys.
  • 360 CS v 911 GT3 RS on the track.
  • RS4 v C63 v M3 in Spain, Clarkson after the M3 blew away the C63s laptime hehe
  • British Leyland car challenge.
  • Clarkson going for a drive in the CLK63 Black was awesome.
  • Hammond and the Murcielago CV in Dubai, racing the 722 SLR McMerc in the middle of Abu Dhabi is one of my all time favourite TV moments.
  • Track battle between James in the 458 Italia and Hammond in the 911 when they went to America.
  • The three of them getting chased by rednecks, I don't care if it was fake, at the time it was very tense to watch.
fking hell, Top Gear have done some amazing stuff. No motoring programme will ever come close.
Watching this episode now, it's incredible thumbup

In a way, I'm kind of glad it didn't get a proper finale.

What could they have done?
The Porsche 918 v the McLaren P1 v the Ferrari The Ferrari would have been quite a high note.

Maybe that was the plan?

Although, they probably would have said if they're planning this to be the last series

It won't end, it might not be called top gear for legal reasons but 68m a year income means the current presenters will be having money thrown at them to change channel

I can see top gear going back to the magazine show it was with new presenters on the BBC.

Reliant robin episode on bbc3 now.

How are they still showing it on BBC after sacking him?

They've decided to not make anymore shows with Clarkson, not sure why this should stop them showing repeats.

confused

Should all Top gear episodes featuring Clarkson be expunged from the archives or something?

Just because he has been sacked (or more accurately - hasn't had his contract renewed) - doesn't mean they can't repeat archive material which presumably the BBC still own the rights to.

Driving a Marina that got hit by an errant piano would be fitting.

Each to their own - I thought it was an absolute lowpoint that showed the show was out of ideas.

So many great moments and episodes.

My favourite has to be the polar special.

But for the normal everyday episodes them just having a laugh could be far better than supercar reviews.

I actually think they last couple of series they had the balance better between cars and entertainment.

Just enjoying an old episode and was amused to see Hammond recommending a Merc 190E Cosworth over an E30 M3 as a future classic. Nicely done.
