Never been too keen on the abroad specials personally, but my favourite was probably the £10k Supercar Challenge from a good few years ago now.....so funny! They also did a few items on the Vauxhall Monaro - which inspired me to go and buy one. smile

Britcar BMW.
Definitely this!

The old UK based "buy a car, do this" challenges were good as well, as many have said.

I always liked the mad power lap from stig in the White Caterham. Commitment in every corner and one of the fastest laps at the Time

Deffo the Polar special, shame on the BBC that more than likely we will never see its ilk again

The Reliant Robin "Shuttle" was superb on my levels.

Not yet mentioned the Brit v German Top Gear where the presenters flew in in Spitfires after vowing not to mention the war.

Actually, this was faked if i recall correctly. The spitfires never left the Uk , and they had the Germans looking up into an empty sky....

All in the edit. But yes, superb television.

Definitely faked. It was filmed at Duxford, you could see the American Air Museum in the background.

The excitement and anticipation seemed very genuine, making the overall failure of the project more bearable and less of a "waste".
Reviving the HiLux after a night in the Severn was pretty good early series viewing too.

  • Britcar BMW
  • M3 CSL in the Isle of Man, and James and Richard going to the Isle of Man in the E34 M5, E30 M3 & M1.
  • The van in a man was great
  • When they bought cars for less than £100, James with the Audi, Clarkson in the Volvo and Hammond in the old man's Rover
  • One of my absolute favourites was when the 'Teenager challenge', anyone remember that?
  • When they showed loads of off road toys.
  • 360 CS v 911 GT3 RS on the track.
  • RS4 v C63 v M3 in Spain, Clarkson after the M3 blew away the C63s laptime hehe
  • British Leyland car challenge.
  • Clarkson going for a drive in the CLK63 Black was awesome.
  • Hammond and the Murcielago CV in Dubai, racing the 722 SLR McMerc in the middle of Abu Dhabi is one of my all time favourite TV moments.
  • Track battle between James in the 458 Italia and Hammond in the 911 when they went to America.
  • The three of them getting chased by rednecks, I don't care if it was fake, at the time it was very tense to watch.
fking hell, Top Gear have done some amazing stuff. No motoring programme will ever come close.

Got quite a few favourites, but Amphibious Cars Part 2 (Dover - Calais) is the first that springs to mind.

V12 Vantage with Jeremy, a seriously good review.
Funniest for me would be the Reliant Robin's capsizing at every corner.

Aston Martin, Ferrari & Lamborghini - the Transfăgărăşan Highway.

Top Gear at it's finest for me and would top my 'Best of TopGear' list.
