1.Vietnam special
2.Near the end of Britcar 24 when Jeremy gets teary eyed
3.When Jeremy says 'stretch it, stretch it' in the Aventador at Imola and it starts spitting flames, almost as if the car was alive and giving it everything. Gave me chills.

I emailed TG months before that was done about a modified car vs standard sports car kind of challenge. They effectively stole my idea hehe

TO be fair with that challenge, if they'd picked a proper modified car not a bloody toss show car the Sprite would have been destroyed.

I seem to have seen the old episodes a million times but the more recent ones only once or twice.

Maybe those at the BBC should read this thread and then realise that the previous wont be easily repeated.
For me, and im biased, the Aston V12V clip.

In recent times I've been one of the complainers of TG - always saying how st it is now (despite still tuning in week after week)...

But this thread has some golden moments listed...

It really is arguably the best factual entertainment show ever made, surely? They've done some truly incredible stuff over the years, and up until recently, did a fantastic job at balancing between a good car show and a good entertainment show!

There are too many great moments to list - I'd probably say my single favourite episode is Britcar though, that was 60 minutes of TV perfection.

I know it was predictable, but the first time he rolled the robin reliant , I nearly laughed to death . One of the funniest things I have ever seen . And I don't laugh at the tv often.

Oh and the two films about the tiny cars. P40 ? And p45 . Hilarious .

Does anyone have a link to the (very old) show where clarkson buys a rover sd1 and tunes the engine right up with no suspension / brake mods.

He then races vicki butler Henderson in a nova sport she has sorted wih brake / suspensions mods and I think an xe (red top )
They race in a drag and track etc

Was a great show but I can't seem to find it on utube? Last propper top gear before it got all scripted and fake

To me the very best thing they ever did on any episode was the best of British where they all ended up parked on the Mall in London.

Have to agree with that, was funny, especially falling in the canal, was that the reliant sketch also?

A few that spring to mind...

- The amateur Rallycross

- £1500 Alfas (I loved nearly all of the cheap car challenges, but this one was always stood out)

- Bolivia special

- Florida Special

But there really is too much to list, Top Gear was an incredible television program, I doubt I'd have the passion for cars that I do if I hadn't grown up watching Top Gear. We'll be lucky to see anything that comes close to it ever again, motoring or not.

In a way, I'm kind of glad it didn't get a proper finale.

What could they have done?
