Hoping they go for stand alone episodes too. they were the best x files stories. the toombs guy, the werewolf / indian thing, the freak show etc. hated the last film though with billy conolly. and the stuff with the black oil etc. it lost its way.

The Unnatural, from near the end of series six. I liked that one as well, and it was made by the final scene.
A definite stand out episode. it was something totally different and a brilliant idea perfectly wrapped up in one single show. the other episode i remember really enjoying was one involving a guy who kept saying Cerulean Blue and controlling people. so many good stand alone episodes. Gillian has aged very well too.

The standalone episodes were the best, in particular I enjoyed what they called "monster of the week" episodes. "The Host" and "Firewalker" were standouts for me.the early days of x files were brilliant though. loved the episode with the black baseball player / Alien.
