I was only 10 or 11 when this first screened and I vaguely remember watching it some of the time.

The wife was even younger wink and has no memory of the earlier series.

Considering watching it as our next series? Is it worth it?

It feels a bit dated to me, watching again now. Still pretty good though.

Yes, and.. yes as a fan.. however I do hope they get a new script writer in ...
either that or I'm fondly remembering just how good it used to be!

I thought it was pretty poor as it seemed to go at breakneck pace right off the bat. Also, at one point, when Mulder and Scully were shouting at each other on the step of that farmhouse every time Mulder shouted out his lines it felt like some sort of SNL skit.

Where is it available in UK?
I've not noticed it on Netflix, Amazon Prime or NOWTV...

If only there was this magical entity that allowed you to not be constrained by the limitations of your locality. A way to interconnect people and things via some sort of web, or a net. An 'inter...net' perhaps?

Or you could watch it on Channel 5 in February?

Saw the fist two episodes and yes, I enjoyed it, but as already stated the scripts do seem to be handing out a little too much exposition.

What utter utter crap. It's like a piss-take of the original, and what the hell did they do to her? She looked like a normal human on Top Gear and that wasn't so long ago.

Loved the original when I was younger - i'll give this update a go when it starts being shown on C5 shortly and see how it goes smile

To anyone that has already seen some of it - how does it fit into the timeline of the original series / later movie? I assume it's been set "2015-6 / present day" rather than being say just 3 or 4 years after the end of the original series?

Also, from the C5 promo, it appears Cancer Man is still alive (always loved his character) so I cant wait to see how his apparent "death" at the end of the original series actually became survival hehe

Set present day judging by the phones, cars and other topical references.

I enjoyed it. I'm not sure it'll survive as it pays way too much homage to the old series to drag in a new audience.

Oh god, the 'topical references'.

"Uber?"

"I'm aware of Edward Snowden"

Why wouldn't you be? You've not been living under a rock, we shouldn't need telling this, it should just be a given. We don't need it pointing out that you're aware of current events despite being off-screen for 15 years.
