Have Hammond and May been released from their contracts too..?
I read that they haven't signed new contracts.Seeing people saying they hope CHM will go to a commercial channel, but I remember Steve Berry saying that, when he was on shows on commercial channels, that scripts always came back to them with red lines through the parts criticising cars manufactured by companies that either advertised or may advertise during the show's ad breaks. That's why Fifth Gear etc are so flimsy when it comes to reviewing cars, and why Clarkson and May could spend twenty minutes of Top Gear mauling Peugeots.

The whole commercial channel thing is indeed an issue, which is why it would be good if someone like Netflix signed them up - they get their money from subscriptions, so would in theory be similar to the BBC in terms of freedom to do what they like.Seeing people saying they hope CHM will go to a commercial channel, but I remember Steve Berry saying that, when he was on shows on commercial channels, that scripts always came back to them with red lines through the parts criticising cars manufactured by companies that either advertised or may advertise during the show's ad breaks. He can punch who he likes ...but getting a "minion" to specially cook him his dinner= Knob
He was staying in a 'Hotel'. Not sure if you are familiar with the concept, but they do stuff for you including cooking food and so it is said, supplying 'extra pillows'. Getting the Polish chef to stay on an extra couple of hours for the stars of one of the most popular shows on television doesn't seem a big ask.cardigankid said:

I get the feeling that while the argument started about the food situation that due to everyone being more than a bit pissed at the time it escalated beyond that for it to come to blows. Why 2 blokes couldn't sort it between themselves once sober I've no idea but Clarkson effectively hadding himself in to the BBC bosses was always enough to give them what they needed to get rid permanently.I don't think anyone will ever hear about the full extent of the incident but it should never have gone this far. Smacking Clarkson in the mouth as a return shot should've been as far as events have ever unfolded imo. That's certainly as far as I'd take things when it came to a pissed argument to be honest.

Would it had bothered you if, when travelling, a flight was delayed for 'a couple of extra hours' for someone like Clarkson and you then missed a connection? The bloke is a bully and the show had run its course. I can't say Hammond is worth much as a presenter and along with Clarkson I wont miss him much. May will hopefully emerge free from this crap and do some more excellent stuff. They should have all quit last season, it was obvious it was always going to end in a flounce or other controversy.

What does a flight have to do with it? Clarkson also despises lateness... The bloke is a bully and the show had run its course. One incident does not a bully maketh.
Series. Not season. I also think the latest series was the strongest for a while. And why would they quit when they are enjoying doing it a millions of people are enjoying watching it?

I'm just pointing out that a seemingly meaningless 2 hour delay for one person can be a huge pain in the rear for others. To throw a diva fit because of the lack of a hot meal is a little childish, given his girth he's hardly going to suffer I'll defer to your greater knowledge of the man, I think he's an oaf purely based upon what he has written on social media and how he portrays himself as some sort of victim over this latest incident. One incident does not a bully maketh.

Whilst the show had a massive audience I think the people really interested in cars and engineering stopped watching the show a good while ago? It may have been the main motoring show on TV but it hardly had much competition. For me a new format and ditching Clarkson along with the fawning (and ageing) luvvies might actually turn out well.
Good post.
Those who hold him up as some sort of beacon of hope in the fight against policitcal correctness baffle me.
Since when has a middle aged man continually acting like a gobby teenager been hilarious?
The people on here and elsewhere expressing feelings of mourning and grief, are pathetic and need to get out more.
He's a oaf who pushed his luck too far.

The people on here who seem to despise him so much, yet watch his programmes, read the news about him and post in threads about him need to get out more.
People who won't hear a bad word against Clarkson need to get out more.I haven't watched a full episode of Top Gear for a long time.
I don't watch the news or read the papers to sate my appetite about him.
And I posted on here only because I was amazed that despite the saga coming to a conclusion, it's still being debated on yet another thread.
Question... Do you think it's healthy for people to be this upset about a TV programme? Or for that matter about a man they don't know and who couldn't give a toss about them?
Or, maybe, just maybe, are there more important things to worry about in life?
Well, the question was answered by the BBC - "and now?" Top Gear Live, because although his behaviour was unacceptable and "crossed a line", as I believe the Director General said, it's OK if he's engaged by BBC Worldwide and they take the words "Top Gear" out of the show title. Once again the BBC astounds me.

Wherever they go, it will be the three of them together. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=930103233719...
