Man bills Sky for all the time they have wasted in him trying to cancel.

i thought you could only cancel if you moved house to a non sky area? When we moved they do a sky move for free.

I suspect there is more to this than the article makes out.

Best thing I ever did was get rid of Sky...it took roughly two years for them to stop send "come back to Sky" letters though.

If anybody else is negotiating with Sky it's worth mentioning that inflation is now zero %. For non footballers that is.

Well they managed to convince me to come back for another year. 60% off plus a £140 credit on my bill.

So basic package plus sports £18.20 a month. Getting 7 months free! Would have paid me if I just took the £8 TV package... Desperate to have me back!

They have been offering me 60% off plus £100 credit for months now, but it's only if you still have your original box etc, I tried bragging the 1tb box and I'll come back to no avail.

So I have the original package with sports & multiroom. I have been paying £34 monthly which Sky want to increase to £44 as apparently the multiroom offer has ended. That's an increase of over 25%!!!

Told the to cancel so we will see if they come back with anything better.

Bit of a resurrection...my half price deal expired so I'm going through the whole process again.

I am being told that in order to get F1 in HD I only need the Original bundle + Sky Sports. Previously I needed the Family bundle and premium HD pack in addition. Does anybody know for sure what is required to watch F1 in HD? I need to be sure so I don't paint myself into a corner during the 'negotiations'...:-)

Thanks!

Probably not much help but all I have is the legacy pack (I think thats the name) so basically have HD and Sky F1 and that's all.

My half price deals have expired and they would only offer me 10% off which wasn't going to fly as a new customer tranfering over would get 50% off.

I've requested the cancellation so have the 31 day countdown for the games to begin.

As someone mentioned above there was a legacy pack where you got F1 by just having the HD add on. Now you need Sky Sports to get F1.

Having the legacy pack puts you in a bad position when negotiating a discount I found. I got roughly 10% off mine but they were offering bigger discounts if I came of the legacy pack. Seems like they want to everyone off the legacy F1 pack.

I left Sky 3 months ago (Legacy HD pack), the offers have been getting better and better every week. I've held firm until now but got a letter with this one on Saturday...

Everything (as in HD, Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Box Sets etc) for £25 per month for 12 months.

Considering we were paying more than that for a Legacy HD pack with no Movies or Sport (aside from F1), it's tempting and frustrating in equal measure. I think my Dad is paying about £70 for the same package.

I don't think I've ever seen a cheaper deal for 'the works' actually quoted in a mailshot (i.e. not agreed over the phone).

I ended up paying £35 per month including multi room (2 Sky boxes), includes sport & family packages.

Thanks all. Cancelation initiated, let's see what does or doesn't get offered.

For clarity, I wasn't lucky enough to be on the Legacy HD deal so in order to watch F1 in HD( my main requirement), I previously had to get:

- Sky Sports (for F1 Channel)
- Family Bundle (in order to be eligible for the HD pack)
- HD pack (required to view F1 in HD)

I'm now being told that I only need the Original bundle + Sky Sports to view F1 in HD, which seems a bit good to be true!

Running through a dummy order on the sky website suggests this combination is valid.

You could always call them up or have a 'Live chat' to confirm.

Yeh it was a chat session where I was told I now only needed original + sports. Will wait for them to (hopefully) give me a call to offer a deal and then see, as the retentions team seemed clued up when I spoke to them last year.

That is still coming up as being about £60 a month for me. Doesn't sound like that much of a bargain, I pay about £40 with my legacy pack which is still too much imo

Just called to cancel the lot, on the back of no motors tv.

Current offer is 17.50 for line rental, boradband, and keep the recording functionality of sky +.

What's the forunm wizdom - cancel the lot and hope for a decent offer for telly in a month, or just take the (pretty good tbh) BB offer and sack the telly off?
