That is still coming up as being about £60 a month for me. Doesn't sound like that much of a bargain, I pay about £40 with my legacy pack which is still too much imo
I get this when I run through an order as a non-signed in new to sky customer:

Apologies that is what I got eventually, was trying to keep documentaries which I also have. Sky is mainly for Fast and Loud + F1.....

Just called to cancel the lot, on the back of no motors tv.

Current offer is 17.50 for line rental, boradband, and keep the recording functionality of sky +.

What's the forunm wizdom - cancel the lot and hope for a decent offer for telly in a month, or just take the (pretty good tbh) BB offer and sack the telly off?
Depends if you want the TV or not?

Based on the MSE forums, the going rate on a retention deal is 50-60% off plus £100 bill credit. You can get this by speaking to the 'come back to sky' advisors. If they say no, close the chat and open a new one until you find someone who says yes.

Just as an experiment I tried another chat, response: "you need to opt for Family Bundle , Sports and HD pack...IN order to watch f1 in HD"

Will report back when(/if) retentions make contact!

My understanding is that this is correct. In order to watch F1 in HD (as a new or existing customer who doesn't have the Legacy HD pack) you need Family bundle (gives all 'normal' channels in HD and access to Box Sets), Sky Sports and then the 'Premium' HD pack which gives all sports, including F1 in HD.

Best offer I could get to stay via web chat was 10% off! So I have cancelled all services and will just wait for a new offer.

Same with me!

I'm wondering if it's because I'm on the legacy pack and they don't want to renew that. I'm happy coming off it as I'd buy HD and Sports anyway.

New offer in already on MySky. Offering 50% off for any bundle for 12 months. Might wait for a few days to see.

FYI: If you have an 'internet connected' type telly or a BT TV box, you should be able to get MotorsTV for free as one of the Freeview streaming channels. (obviously, it will eat quite a bit of data)

I really do need to get around to binning Sky. Time was there wasn't an alternative. Now that's just not true...

IMO, Freeview/Freesat for casual watching, Youtube for the variety, plus streaming services for premium pay-TV shows/movies/sports is more than good enough.

Paying megabucks for Sky just doesn't make sense. Might be different if I had a bunch of kids that I wanted to keep quiet by keeping them plonked in front of the TV all the time I suppose.

Very strong rumours that Motors Tv will be back on Sky in the next few days...

I just cancelled Sky - within 5 minutes there was a 50% off any package deal showing in MySky. Went on live chat to take up the offer (for Family, Sports & HD addon) and they gave me a £50 credit without me even asking. Was increased to £100 as the order progressed, again without any prompting from me.

Just changed from Sky to BT for tv, phone and broadband.

Transition has gone smoothly, however, myself and most importantly, SWMBO probably wouldn't recommend the move. We don't find BT's layout to be anywhere near as user friendly as the Sky system. We've got virtually the same channel package as what we had with Sky, however, the BT box seems more of a freeview service and we seem to get interference on channels like Dave or some of the additional channel 4 channels.

When I called Sky and told them I wanted to leave, I got offered 10% and free broadband for the year, but was still higher than what I was paying. I told them no and that I wanted to cancel and that was it. I did get a couple of emails, but I had signed up to BT fairly soon after cancelling Sky.

I'll probably move back next year and try and get another good deal.

Sky will pester you relentlessly after you leave. When I cancelled the TV they kept calling the land line weekly to offer a come back deal.

Then we switched the land line and broadband to Vodafone which meant the number changed. This didn't put them off though as they just called my mobile instead rolleyes

I never watched it much to begin with so there is no loss. When you read the threads about cancelling, some people literally start bricking themselves when sky call their bluff and switch it off because they cant cope without it and the kids might have to do something other than watch the 'ultimate babysitter' all day long.

However did we manage with just the terrestrial services...

Cancelled TV on Monday, haven't heard anything and no mention of the cancellation or any offers on My Sky. Perhaps my custom is no longer desired this year!

I read that and initially thought it was one of those daft websites that makes stories up (Daily Mash) but having read it again, sadly it's not.

It's seriously worrying to be honest that mouth-breathers like this are in charge of running the country.

I too am not loved. No showering of offers or any attempt to keep my custom.

Let's see what next week brings.

Apparently the offers to attract you back can be dependent on where you live and what services are available to you. We have BT Infinity here but no cable (Virgin), so I presume they know that we are very unlikely to be tied into a lengthy contract with another provider after leaving them, as there are no other real options for the majority of content they provide.
