I don't currently have multiroom, for me it would now be £12 for Q multiroom subscription and one off fee £30 installation per box (£60).

They don't seem to make any mention of Sky Q silver any more, has this marketing been changed already???
No seems like dropped for 1tb box with 3 ch record and 2tb box with 4 ch record

The SkyQ box is now the SkyQ 1TB and the Silver has been rebranded as the SkyQ 2TB.

Voila, last page was an offer for our broadband at £10 a month rather than the £20 it is now for 12 new months (not much of an issue for us as we are only 2 months into our current contract

Taken the cost down from £67 a month (variety, Sky+hd (no hd channels, sport or movies etc, we are boring/I download stuff ), unlimited fibre, line rental, sky talk anytime)) to £57.

I'm now about to find a chat person and ask about the free mobile calls I've seen advertised, as that would be useful to SWMBO (works weekend nights so is always on the bloody phone during the day, hence why we have free landline calls) and try and get some more value from it

Happy with that, as I built a BT order up (the top TV package as it had the kids channels my daughter watches), infinity option 1 and the same phone package as Sky and that was £53 a month with an astonishing £75 serup fee, and I would have to put the aerial back up in the loft (removed it the day we moved in as it was fitted above the hatch and I nearly took my ear off with it...)

Incase this helps anyone, was a nice surprise. Wish Aviva would do that with the car insurance...

Got an email today, I think it's about 6 weeks since I moved away, offering me 60% off and £75 credit. If they'd offered that before I left I'd probably have stayed.

Had same email, complete package with Movies/Sport all HD. £32 a month and £75 credit. I signed back up for 12 months on Thursday and will cancel again at the end of the term.

Looks like Virgin Media try all the same tricks:-

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Mrs BC and change from the AA to RAC alternate years to get the new customer deal. Perhaps it's time to do the same with Sky?

We bagged that deal minus the credit about 2 Months ago. Really happy that I can finally get sky F1 now! biggrin

Although we have the snail pace Internet (10mb) so as through some idiot mistake meaning i thought the virgin contact came to an end when the it didn't. I'm still paying for virgin for another 6months so I'm still using their 200mb fibre!

Definitely. As above I've saved about £60 a month which is enough to pay for a nice new 50" Panasonic 4K TV over the 12 month contract.

I'd picked up a cheap NOW TV box from Amazon last Black Friday and used that in the interim (cost about £15) so still had access to the boxsets, on-demand and most live channels. You can also get a free movies pass for the first few weeks. Just make sure you go on the website and stop it from auto renewing after the initial period.

Indeed. £32 a month for everything I'm more than happy with. SKY Cinema is a big improvement over the old Movies as more new films, plenty of sport to watch with the new football season started and Ryder Cup soon so very happy to have gone back.

I've got BT Infinity 2 with BT TV bundled so no issues there. Not heard good things about SKY fibre/broadband, especially their hubs. Very slow and piss poor Wi-Fi range I'm told so will stick with the BT Homehub even at the extra cost.

Just saved £90 over next 12 months.
If you're out of contract why not just cancel for a month or so? I've saved about £700 over the next 12 months doing that, as have a few others. Did it all via chat on the website so no waiting on the phone etc. either.

I cancelled last month as I was out of contract; Sky tried to contact me every other day, and I finally agreed to 50% off my current package, a month to month contract and a £30 credit which I was happy with.

Now I may have a problem.

My Sky box has stopped connecting with the television. All a bit odd the light goes from red to green but no response from the tv. The television works on its own so I'm guessing that the (rather old) Sky box is knackered.

Looking online it appears that I can get a new Q box for £49 including engineer fitting. It also says that my contract will extend by another 12 months. My concern is that my current deal ends in June so I wonder what would happen to the monthly payments after June.

Anybody know?

So after 2 years my 50% is coming to an end - Have SKY + HD Variety pack so would have to pay £36 odd pounds per month. It is not worth that much.

Called up retentions - best they could offer me was 30% discount so cancelled it altogether.

Have Netflix and Prime so am good with those for now.

Watch out for this though.

I binned $LY a couple of years ago and had a letter stating that if I still had my $LY box I would be able to use the recording features for free for the next 3 months.

I then had another letter stating they had extended the offer. I never used it as I had a FreeSat+ unit.

Then when checking my bank account I noticed they had taken money. Apparently you have to tell them you don't want it after the offer ends even though you never asked for it in the first place.

Utter fking s.

They used to bill the PVR functionality separately to the channel packs, but rebated the charge if you were subscribing to a package. Don't know if that is still the case. Presumably whenever you originally got the box it must have come with a pay TV package as well so you 'agreed' to the charges for PVR at that point.

Cancelled Sky yesterday. Got myself a DTR-T2100 PVR box (as recommended in another thread) - £384 per year saved.
I don't think I'll miss Sky at all - there's so much good stuff on Netflix and normal terrestrial that Sky is dead IMO.
The only thing I'll probably miss is Wheeler Dealers and Discovery channel in general, but I'm sure there are other ways of watching that (tell us if you know?).

Sky offered to drop the monthly price from £32 to £20...but naa.

Where abouts did you get the box from? Missing the record function when I binned SKY.

eBay - £60. There's loads around that price (second hand)
