In my wisdom I've booked a 00:01 viewing of this on Friday morning and wondered whether anyone else is planning on watching it this bank holiday weekend?

Very much looking forward to the seventh instalment of IAM's video training course!

Is this the one they filmed scenes for in Liverpool? I remember them closing the tunnel for some night time tunnel runs last year. Be worth watching for that alone.

I think that was F&F6.

I have to admit, I enjoyed the silliness of the first one, but they get increasingly stupid after that - I checked out after the one with the tunnels into Mexico - about half was through it actually.

The last couple of instalments have been significantly better than the earlier ones, so I shall be queueing up at the local Cineworld on Friday evening for Episode 7.

It will be interesting to see how they write out Paul Walker's character, hopefully I won't cry like a little kid with a skinned knee, as there's nothing worse than seeing a fat man weep.

Don't think I've seen any of the F&F series.

Are they the sort of things where they're going flat out but are able to change down 15 gears and then floor it and go faster?

It's an action film with cars, not a documentary. Accuracy is lacking but entertainment in abundance

Since the first one, which I enjoyed - the slower than real-time quarter mile was very well done - they just kept going downhill - I actually thought Tokyo Drift was OK, but since then they have turned from Car films into silly Superhero films with no flow.

The first few were watch-able due to the car culture element.

So have you seen any of them or not? As if you know that, you just have seen a little?

A few friends and I have organised a 'lads night' ( hehe) with food, a few drinks then 9:35pm visit to the cinema. Should be a good Friday evening!

The last three or so films were absolutely sensless. However, this one gets some good press and critics. 86% tomatometer! And they usually don't rate such stuff much. Didn't want to, but now I think it probably worth a look.

Weal, they did some amazing work on improving the series with this one. Some great cameos, great villain and a tear or two for Paul Walker. Never like the guy for his acting skills (though they improved with time) and the series as well, but looking at him was like looking at your own passed brother or cousin (hopefully not for you). Acting wasn't particularly great, and the plot is totally unbelieveable (guess usual service), but no wonder it has so much to it (see my post above). It's the DEFINITION of a brain out action movie. And some great cars. The small Maser sounded simply divine, and they used real engine sounds for the first time in all seven series (!). The Aston V12 had almost made my eyes watered, although very brief appearance.
How well Michelle Rodrigues has aged, and how not almost all the other have.
They used the CGI Paul Walker very neatly, although the execution was very obvious on the big screen. Sometimes simply terrible. What can be seen etc etc

tl;dr You should go, just don't expect a V8 Anna Karenina there. I'm not a fan of the series, but it's great when choosing a good POV.

Huge guilty pleasure for me, the whole series. Love every one and I'm excited like a small boy to see the new one aswell. It's just a proper action film, gun fights, cool cars, explosions and Michelle Rodriguez being all bad ass. For pure entertainment that list is hard to beat.

Just back from seeing it, Brilliant, Loved it.

Ok, so there are bits when you think its sending itself up, great cameos. The cgi of Paul was ethereal, and part of me hopes that was intentional, he was a large part of the franchise. A great villain played superbly by Jason Statham. Over the top action, amazing car stunts, pure brain out entertainment

And what was said above, I hope they don't make anymore. I can't see myself going.

Won't say anymore as i dont want to spoil it.
