Was it just a bit of 'deja vu' or were there some clips from old canal journeys cut in?
I don't think there were any bits from previous episodes - it would be too obvious (clothes would be a good example). There has been a previous one with their family on board, so maybe that is what has triggered your deja vu ?

There was a narrow boat thread a couple of months ago which you might find interesting, search for 'Anderton Boat lift' as it was also discussed.

Another great series from these two and a very pleasant watch it was. Tim does go on about Pru's condition with great regularity however and I think they are both getting ready for the curtain to come down. From the way they were both talking I get the impression that this may have been the last series they do.

I think you could be right, they certainly talked about it, sadly. frown

You do get that impression, especially with the little piece they do at the start at their home.
My sister works at the RSC and has met Pru a couple of times as well as seeing her wandering round the place when Tim or their son was there. Apparently she has always been mildly eccentric and always had a glass of wine in her hand laugh

It's the very last series they admit that. Apparently the 2 parter contains one thing which causes folks to get a bit of lump in the throat syndrome.

A poignant moment at the end of the programme. But then, would imagine a very special place like Vietnam would bring such out in one.

Yep, returning to the Oxford canal, the waterway where they fell in love with boating more than forty years ago.

Part of me finds it all very sad, but then you have to think, if you are going to go why not spend your last few years doing exactly what you love. Hopefully being paid very well for the privilege too.
