KRYTEN: '39436175880932/B. "All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space." Is that entirely relevant sir? I mean, here we are, in mortal danger and you're worried about the Chinese delegates bringing two cars.'

KRYTEN: 'But that's 39436175880932/C, sir.'

That is fantasic news. Shame the BBC did not pick up on this but there you go.Hopefully it will slowly improve. I shall record and then watch to skip all those bloody adverts on Dave.
Mixed feelings: series 1-6 were classics, 7 and 8 a disaster, Back to Earth Dull but X was a step in the right direction. Main problem for me is it stopped being a comedy drama and became a sitcom that lacked the heart of the early series and relied too much on worn out tropes such as Lister being on hold for ages, two characters having a conversation thinking the other is talking about someone else etc

The thing that spoilt the new ones for me was the lack of canned laughter. I know it sounds cheesy, but just felt there was a blank silence after every one liner in the new ones.
The canned laughter on the earlier series was genuine laughter rather than a random recording. I went to watch them filming the Series 8 double episode "Pete" (the one with dinosaur rampaging around the ship). They'd already filmed a few bits, and had some special effects bits still to add, but they went through the double episode in order, playing clips of bits they'd already filmed on the monitors, and recording the audience laughter. Shame they didn't do that on the newer ones as I agree it doesn't seem right without the laughter.MartG said:
Not sure how I feel about that, the other new ones were all a bit disappointing, part of me thinks they should leave it aloneGassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
