Breaking Bad - being re-run from the beginning
Discussion
If, like me, you missed BB when it first aired and don't have a Netflix subscription, help is at hand!
I've had a Sky Never Miss reminder set for it for ages now, and an e-mail popped up just now to say that series 1 episode 1 will go out tonight at 11pm on a new channel, Spike - 160 on Sky. I think it's an episode per night thereafter (not sure whether how many series they will show though).

Word to the wise, whilst it deserves all the hype it gets - it's very slow burn, especially the first few series - IMO it's much better binge watching than weekly watching.
You could fill your DVR up and watch it over a few weeks, or personally - as long as you're not in the bandwidth dark ages it's worth the £6 a month for Netflix - especially with House of Cards and Orange is the new Black thrown in. You can even watch 'Better Call Saul' after, which I'm enjoying slightly more than BB if anything.
I'm tight as they come, but Netflix is great value IMO, certainly better than Sky £ for £.

Surley you just download stuff rather than wait for it to be on the TV?!
I used to torrent lots of stuff but generally use a tablet now rather than a PC. The laptop gets fired up once in a blue moon and I'd have to be pretty excited to see something to warrant resorting to torrents. BB is one of those things I figured I'd watch if it was screened again from the outset, to see whether it warranted the hype, but wasn't sufficiently fussed about to actively seek out.

Thanks OP for the heads up. I've read a lot about this series but haven't seen any of it.
Those of us with sub 2Mb broadband can only dream of video streaming.
That's what I thought - things have moved on though. Those of us with sub 2Mb broadband can only dream of video streaming.
The way Netflix streams now is very different.
I have 3Mb broadband, and I can watch Better Caul Saul on a projector screen at 720 and it looks great.
At 2Mb you'll still get 480 which is not bad for a normal sized TV similar to SD.

Same. I missed the first ep though, annoying.I've had a Sky Never Miss reminder set for it for ages now, and an e-mail popped up just now to say that series 1 episode 1 will go out tonight at 11pm on a new channel, Spike - 160 on Sky. I was gonna make a thread, but I'll use this one...I hope there is none of that, 'oo you'll like the next episode/series' bullst.
I watched all seasons a good few months back but ended up losing entire weekends binge viewing. After the superb BCS spin off season just ending I think I'll start watching BB a second time and appreciate all the things I missed the first time around. It's series linked so I'll watch one a week.
Some people say it's a slow burn and to stick with it. I watched the opening scene and instantly thought it was a winner. It is one of those that gets better with each season. (unlike the Walking Dead which started out OK but has been flogging a dead horse for some time now.)

We watched the whole lot again recently... you spot much more of the humour second time round. Some people say it's a slow burn and to stick with it. Just watched the pilot for the first time; enjoyed that!
As a fan of The Sopranos, The Wire and Mad Men, the so-called 'slow pace' doesn't bother me.
