Breaking Bad - being re-run from the beginning
Discussion
Last night's episode was certainly full of tension. I do still quite dislike Jessie though...although he has redeemed himself slightly...
And I also flick between strong dislike and acceptance with Walt.

Embarrassingly, I still haven't got around to starting it yet. There are 40-odd episodes sitting on the Sky+ box waiting to be watched. I'll get there, eventually!
That's gonna be an epic marathon. Edited by Lurking Lawyer on Saturday 13th June 08:55
Considering all the psychopathic murderers and drug dealers on that program, Jessie is the one I would most like to grab by the neck and shake until he stopped breathing.
I would rather work the drive thru window at McDonalds than become a millionaire working with him.

Finally watched it.
It ended last night. It really is a treat to be able to watch something for the first time in one chunk. No waiting, a most interesting character study.
SOme mixed feelings on the whole thing...kept thinking 'if only', but then the story would have ended sooner. Really enjoyed the dénouement...was sad with what happened to ASAC Schroeder, but then he just simply couldn't let it go. That was the problem with every single character...save one, Saul.
I think, Saul is the only one I actually like.
I've been told it's nice to watch on the second viewing. One spots a lot of things. Like Hank's wife always wearing purple.

My view on BB is its well filmed with some good atmospheric scenes. But really, I mean really, why has it got such a cult following - the storyline is grim, seems to suck up to drugs and doesn't explore the characters to anything like their potential. Complete runs of episodes one after the other just leave me waiting for something good or prophetic to happen, and I figured out early on that each episode could be compressed and irrelevant scenes deleted without detracting at all. A very disappointing series.
I finally finished working my way through the episodes recorded last year.
It lost its way a bit midway through, and my interest waned a little during series 4, but on the whole I still think it lived up to its reputation.
In contrast to something like The Sopranos, the ending was pretty satisfying.
