My feelings are much the same as previous posters. Elements of it were strong but it was dragged down badly by trying to cram in far too much to jump start a franchise.

There was not an empty seat in the cinema though.

Well what a bunch of miserable sods we've got in here. I thought the film was very good. Yes it had some issues but they were far outweighed buy the positives. I'll get the bad out of the way first.

Pacing probably the biggest problem. I like a slow build up as much as the next person but some bits of the first half of the film dragged a bit. It's almost as if they were conscious that this was the main event so they wanted to build the anticipation but I started to get bored of waiting. Could have done with loping about 10 minutes of the first half. To answer a poster above though the long first half does setup the reason for why they fight quite well. It's also a story that happens in the comics so if people think it's a cash grab, the comics did it first smile.

Secondly and I'll spoiler this bit the resolution of the conflict was a bit too quick and convenient. One moment they are trying to kill each other, the next they are best buddies because their moms share the same first name. They could have come up with something a bit better IMO.

Now the good stuff.

Ben Affleck, I admit to having my doubts when he was first announced but I have to say he did very well as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. He played an intelligent Bruce and he had a physicality that was great for playing the Bat

Lex Luthor, again I had huge doubts about Jesse Eisenberg but he did a great job as a wonderrfully unhinged Lex and by the end of the movie he was Lex for me, bald head and all. His plan also made the most sense out of all the Lex's I've seen so far. The only slight reservation is that his hatred of the superheroes is never really satisfactorily explained.

Wonder Women. Well what can I say, she literally steals the show. Stunning, intelligent and when it comes to the climatic showdown, she puts the boys to shame with her bad-assery.

And what a showdown. It's almost all I expected when the JLA throwdown against a strong opponent. There was almost too much going on though so I'll defiantly need to give it anther viewing at home.

For those who know the source material, the ending wasn't really surprising but still well done.

A solid 8/10 from me

Quite a variation in opinion, then!

I enjoyed it as a brain-out movie.

Highlights for me were;

1. Affleck's Batman - personally, I thought that he nailed it.
2. Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
3. Hans Zimmerman's soundtrack - superb.
4. Amy Adams in the bath

The "plot" makes little sense on any level.

Went to see this yesterday with MiniMad and low expectations. Not a big fan of Man of Steel and the buzz around this was a bit meh.

I'd agree its a bit meh but better than Man of Steel.

I liked Affleck as Batman

For me its too serious and po-faced but weirdly not intelligent enough. With the meta humans why not just show the footage of Wonder Women and leave the other 3, the fanboys will know what the symbols mean and the rest of us will be intrigued rather than having the Justice League thrown in our face.

There is apparently a R rated version for blu-ray release. So a few swear words, a bit of gore and Amy Adams tits in the bath??? Cynical Deadpool cash in, obviously released after the initial 12 release.

Saw it this afternoon. 10 minutes in and I wondered what everyone's issue was. To a large extent I agree with miniman64. Most of the issues could be dealt with by a much better edit. All the dream sequences could have been cut, as could have the the Wayne shootings. How many times do we have to watch a string of pearls dropping to the ground in slow motion?
The one thing that couldn't be fixed was doomsday. I assume that as he was in the trailers it isn't a spoiler (that and the fact it has been mentioned in previous posts) The whole design was badly wrong in every way.

On the plus side I quite liked batfleck, in fact I would say I preferred his version to Bales.

5/10 if you want to watch a real superhero battle movie wait for civil war, or if you really want to see how it's done daredevil season 2.

Just sitting here doing a bit of work with Batman Begins on the screen. Engaging, great casting, completely different level to the pap seen yesterday. Granted Clooney was NEVER going to be allowed near Batman again (though that disaster wasn't his fault), but he has got what it takes to play the older Batman along with Fassbender for the man of steel.

Each to his own, but I am amazed people are giving this anything but a massive box of rotten veg.

I enjoyed it. The beginning is too drawn out to the point where it would be boring for kids. Jesse was too inspired by Heath Ledgers Joker. Cavill was better than in MOS but lacks any sense of nobility and again has less than zero chemistry with Amy Adams. I noticed several references to the fight being on a deserted island or out of the city which I suspect were there due to the criticism from MOS. Perhaps my low expectations were to blame but I really enjoyed it. A bit disjointed but some great moments.

Nobody shuffled off to a pointless, avoidable and inglorious death either. Unlike Costner is mos. or Han Solo in Star Wars for that matter. Pretty good overall.

Glad a few have echoed my feelings. Genuinely can't wait for Batfleck's (yeah I'm stealing that one!) solo film. Assuming there'll be one.

I initially thought that Affleck was better than Bale, but they both work. Affleck's is an older, battle hardened, grizzly Batman and his Wayne is far more mature and introspective.

Would love to have seen the responses if it was known shortly after the Affleck casting that the general concensus would be that he's the best thing in the film!

A bit of judicious editing could have improved this a bit to improve the pace, too many dream sequences and naval pondering and not enough Wonder Woman, she can kick ass, 6/10.

Don't think it has been mentioned yet but I thought Jeremy Irons was very good as Alfred. I'm excited at the prospect of a solo Batman film with him and Affleck in it as I believe they'll certainly be on par with Bale and Caine.

Still a bit conflicted about how I feel about B vs. S. It's been a while since I've come out of a movie and still been sitting a few days later wondering whether I enjoyed it or was underwhelmed by it.

I think the problem is - they are trying to recreate the success of Avengers, but the reason Avengers worked was because we had so many films to draw upon. All of the origin stories had been told and many of the minor characters had been introduced. The movie worked because it could concentrate on the interaction between the characters - rather than trying to tell each of their stories.

BvS sounds like it's trying to do too much in one movie. It might have worked better had it come after a Batman reboot and a Wonder Woman origin movie.

Went to see it this afternoon. I enjoyed it, I questioned whether I could be arsed to sit in the cinema for well over 2 hours for a film that was getting a luke warm reception.

I didn't mind MoS, it was possibly blunted a little bit for me with Super Man returns still being fresh enough in my mind as a Superman reboot.

I thought Ben Affleck's Batman was the best thing about the film and while the Nolan Batman's were very good-wasn't a huge fan of the last, but BVS left me wanting to see another solo Batman movie, quite like a more physical brutal Batman.

I don't think a Batman Vs Superman really work for me but still a solid 7/10.

He's one of the few critics out there that I think has any merit whatsoever.

Took my son and his friend this afternoon. I thought it was ok, his 11 year old friend liked it.

My boy, who's 9, asked me how long was left - we were only 15 minutes into the film.

That about summed it up for me!
