Holy fk! Is that... Doomsday?

So Lex creates Doomsday out of Zod DNA?

I wasn't too excited about this movie but. Doomsday!

Really looks like it.

Wonder Woman's arrival/reveal is well played too.

Do like the final exchange of the trailer. Finally some lightness on show.

My only fear is the rush they seem to be in.... Marvel have taken their time introducing all of their heros.
Between this movie and Suicide Squad there is seemingly nothing left to wait for. DC seem determined to get everyone on screen ASAP.

Love that!

But does anyone else think Batman looked like a pussy holding a gun?

So it's doomsday then? Considering they said it wouldn't be ages ago. At least they revealed it in the trailer rather than a laughable spectre / Star Trek into darkness situation.
I get the feeling that nothing much is going to happen until the final act and then it's going to be another city destroying cgi fest. I hope I'm wrong.

Can we get thread renamed? JLA vs doomsday?

I did see a comment from someone saying "last time a movie crammed in so many characters we ended up with Spider-Man 3"

God I hope that is not the case!!

Interesting what you say about them claiming the Doomsday wasn't in it after early leaks. I had a picture sent to me this time last year of the Bat-Wing, the movie studio were quick to laugh and call it fake on Twitter. Yet right there in the trailer is exactly the same Bat-Wing.
I think they have a lot of leaks in this production so trying to avoid any theory's based on 'insider knowledge'. As a lot of these may well be spot on.

Ps. Lex Luthor looks and sounds utter crap in that trailer.

The trailer is way too spoilery; it's almost a summary of the film.

I think this is really going to suffer from having too much going on at once. I've read a leak synopsis of the plot (that ties up with this trailer) and I have no idea how they are going to cram everything into a 2 hour film.

I'm going on the record and admitting I made a mistake; Ben Affleck looks like he will be a really good Batman. A st Bruce Wayne, but a good Batman.

There is 100% a third super powered character in this, as you can see Wonder Woman fighting someone and pushed into a wall in the trailer.

Zod dead, batman not strong enough, superman wouldn't do it, so that leaves only a couple of options smile
I hate it when I'm right wink

New trailer looks great, but I kinda wish I hadn't seen it now!

yes

Marvel introduced them, even characters like Thor (admittedly, one of their weaker efforts).
In the second Avengers movie there was a lot of talk about how much material didn't make it into the script, just for the sheer amount of characters. Also no Shield (Hill/Fury) and some others missing for the same reason.
And it wasn't really good.

Same with Spiderman 3, it really felt unnecessary to have ALL these villains. Here it looks like they're going to have a lot of superhero's.
On the other hand, nor batman nor supes need introduction, so it'll be WW and Aquaman?

Still can't wait, did like the "I thought she was with you" line.
Not too happy about the actress, not at all how WW is described or looks in the comics, but she has the benefit of the doubt. Always thought Affleck would be a great choice for Batman, Bale is always going to be a very hard act to follow and not to be given to anyone but an A-lister imho.

Well I have mixed emotions, my inner child is saying wow that looks really cool, however my saner adult head is saying that

a) They gave away far too much in that trailer

b) There is too much going on, so we have Batman, Wonder Women, Doomsday, Lex Luthor and possibly Aquaman all introduced in one film. How will they have the time to do them all justice? (no pun intended) Also I assume they will beat Doomsday which begs the question, how do they top that villain? Alternatively in the comics Doomsday kills Superman so how the hell are they going to work that in and where do they go from there?

I hope I'm wrong but this really looks like a case of Marvel catching DC on the hop and now in their urgency to catch up, DC are blowing their load all in one go. As others have said, visions of Spider Man 3, not good.

I think it's pretty much a given at this point that Flash & Aquaman are both going to be glorified cameos at this point. To be honest, as much of we see of Wonder Woman in the trailer could be the key points of her whole appearance in the film.

I was seriously excited seeing it this morning but on reflection I'm actually a bit disappointed as I kind of feel like I've already seen the whole film now....

Superman no longer trusted
Superman tries to improve image
Irritating Lex winds up Supes & Bats
Bats has vision of future Earth ruled by Supes/Lex
Bat & Supes have a big fight in the middle
Lex makes Doomsday
Bats & Supes get beat
WW appears saves day
JL Beat Doomsday, agree to team up again future

  • insert Flash/Aquaman where required*

I was expecting the Zod cline to be something special, but I don't know the DC mythos.

Indeed. Giving away far too much in the dipoles, utter knobheads. They've bottled it. Most don't know how to make trailers now. the Star Wars one is an example of a good trailer.

Exactly this.

I think the release of the Civil War trailer panicked them and they felt like they had to show their hand. The BvS trailer actually looks rushed; with disjointed scenes and music stitched together.

There is a point in the trailer, just before Doomsday appears, that seems like a natural ending point for the trailer. For some reason they then tacked on an additional 30-45 seconds that reveals major parts of the plot.

The film looks like it will be a decent action fest; but I hate that they've laid the story open before it has even been released....

The thing that I really want to see if DC do the same as marvel and thats include the tv programs in the movies, Flash, Arrow and Supergirl are all in the same universe, now we are going to be thrown another flash? thats going to massively confuse everything. it wouldn't be a too hard a step to cross them over. It would also allow them to not have to worry about back stories for "minor" heroes.

I'm pretty sure I know where they are going with Zod and it involves butchering the origins of some of the characters...

If you don't want to know; don't read below:

In the comics, Doomsday is created by an alien who leaves a child on Krypton (pre-superman civilization) to fend for himself. Everytime the child dies, the alien clones his remains and then drops him back on the planet again. This cycle repeats, with the child getting stronger and stronger each time, eventually becoming Doomsday.

I'm guessing that Zod's remains will be used to bio-engineer Doomsday in the movie. Essentially keeping Doomsday's Kryptonian roots, but removing the 'Darwin/Evolution' origin story.

A massive mistake in my eyes...

The Arrow/Flash CW universe, the Supergirl series and the DCMU are 3 completely separate entities as I understand it. They are not linked in any way outside the source material.

Another sign of how rushed DC are at all of this.

Yep I definitely think the Marvel approach has been a lot more cohesive. The problem as stated before is I think DC have been caught on the hop by how successful and cohesive the MCU has been so now they are desperately trying to play catch-up to get a slice of the action.

It's like the virgin who sees other people getting all the action while they aren't getting any, then when they finally find a willing partner, they blow all their load in 30 seconds.

Anyone interested in watching the film - don't watch trailer 3!

That's the entire movie summarised into 3 minutes - what were they thinking?!
