Seems to have worked...

I know someone who is convinced that 'JK' is being lined up for the gig, but he doesn't seem to know whether it's Jamiroquai or Jodie Kidd. Or Rowling come to that.

Richard Hammond on Twitter earlier today.

"To be clear amidst all this talk of us 'quitting' or not: there's nothing for me to 'quit'. Not about to quit my mates anyway."
This for me is one of the things I've grown to dislike about Top Gear. It's basically became three 'mates' dicking about. The level of dicking about has increased over the years to the point where it feels like Clarkson, and to a lesser extent Hammond are literally just taking the p1ss, with May trying and failing to occasionally actually do some interesting work.

Yes, it probably beats Fifth Gear/Old Top Gear for 'entertainment', I just feel if they had freshened things up earlier, and not allowed it to become almost like 'jobs for the boys' it would be a far better show than it's became.

It's a shame May isn't staying with Top Gear, less of a shame Hammond isn't staying, but no shame at all that Clarksons going, he's years and years past his best. I'd actually love it if they somehow resurrected it with new hosts and it succeeded. Unfortunately I can't see that happening.

Whilst I've quite enjoyed the Classic Car Show, Jodie Kidd is a terrible presenter. The "on location" bits aren't too bad but in the studio she doesn't/can't disguise the fact that she's clearly reading from an autocue. Yes, we know TV presenters read from autocues but it shouldn't look like they're reading out the words.
Not just me then.. It's like watching Bridget Jones' diary at times

Thing is though, she actually is. When you watch back siarpc she's nothing like how she was on classic car show.

She is clearly a very passionate petrol head, but the non disguised script reading and ever emphasised facial expressions really didn't do it for me I'm afraid.

I've only ever seen her on a couple of episodes of the classic car show and driving on the top gear track. On the classic car show I was wincing through most of it. Cringeworthy stuff.

Predictable and lazy choices by the utterly disconnected BBC wumman now in charge.
Kidd = ET-faced clothes horse with personality bypass
Martin = about to lose his licence for doing 10,000mph on the Island in a car
Glnster = terminally miserable luvvie

Maybe Clarkson dicked about in a good way when he was younger. These days it just seems to involve rehashing the same crap gag where he smashes up an old car and pretends it was an accident.

I watched the India Special today and some of the stuff was hilarious. Winching the front end off the Mini was side splittingly funny taking a Rolls,an XJS and a mini to India on a trade mission brilliant.
Maybe "Specials" is the way to go
