Enjoyed that. All the background jokes.

I thought that was Guy Garvey as Steve.

Saw the first two episodes at the cinema a few weeks ago, the second is even better, the "smurf" in particular...

I've watched all four and it is the funniest thing I've seen for a while. Not going to spoil it for others.

No work tomorrow, so I'm ploughing through. Episode 3 is comedy genius.

Loving the background radio shyte - the shed adverts etc - and the big display advert for C4 'Miner Celebrities' on the bridge.

Nice counterpoint to watching Line of Duty and Broadchurch.

I agree it went a little flat in the middle, but the relationship between the two is excellent, really believable and, as usual, there's plenty of little background jokes as well (I came on to post about the Shaun Ryder Rehab Centre, but was beaten to it by seconds biggrin)

As well as being funny, the way they portray the very real dysfunctional mental trauma that the characters are playing is excellent.

Yes there are some cheap gags which are a bit awkward (can't wait to get a sausage inside me - I bet that's what she says) but I'm not sure if that is just to help ensure it appeals to all levels.

Peter Kay might have been a fat has been who just regurgitated the same old gags but with this, he has proved that he is still capable of more.

With this new series, he has done it as a continuation to Series 1 but given it more depth.

I laughed so hard I nearly pissed more than the monkey did when it was in the car.
