Watched the preview on Sky last night and it looks a bit like a cross between The Dome and the X Files. It is filmed in the same town First Blood was apparently. It's got a decent cast but will the plot line do them justice in the long run? I fear not.

I thought this looked quite promising, I enjoyed the preview.

Indeed.

I worry that it's just going to drag on with no conclusion (like "Lost").

I liked it, but couldn't help thinking it has potential to be an absolute disaster. I like M Night's previous work (yes, even the stuff that got slated) so hopefully that won't be the case with this series.

Been looking forward to this as read and enjoyed the books, even if they are a bit trashy! If it follows them (which the first episode seems to be ish) it will be good and more interesting than it might at first appear to be.

Been looking forward .... and apart from some recurring M Niight stuff (too obvious to mention, but like ...he loved The Prisoner, didn't he...) it's got a quirkiness which is addictive!!!

Three episodes now aired.
It reminded me of the Prisoner at the beginning....
Erm....still not sure if it's sci-fi, or real tech, some sort of government facility, aliens...which may be why I like it...also love the fact that we have gotten real deaths (maybe) from characters.

Didn't understand the bad dubbing in one scene.
Anyone else WHO HAS WATCHED UP TO EPISODE THREE (PLEASE NO SPOILERS FROM S) been watching it on Fox on Thursdays?

My guess is government project as certain members of the Secret Service seems to be in on it though I can't see that agency actually being the perpetrators.

NSA/CIA sleeper agent programming?.

I was thinking, research into 'brainwashing/sleeper' work. Like the barmy stuff the CIA did back in the 60s.
Money from pre-1988
woman who died thought it was 1999, she had been there for a year.
Other woman who was once SS, had been there ten years, but SS agent was with her 5 weeks ago.
It could still be brainwashing so far.

I read the first book recently. Having watched the series so far I don't understand why they have screwed around with the order of events in the book, it doesn't flow anything like as well.

Unimpressed.

TV shows (and movies) derived from books never seem to satisfy so probably best to avoid one or the other. I know I wouldn't enjoy GoT as much if I was constantly thinking how it differed from the books.

Iv just started watching this on fox. I'm hooked so far, hope the pace of the plot continues. Its when they start dragging the story line out when i start to waiver.

It's a Fox show (basic cable) which are normally 13 eps when they get going, sometimes shorter for the premier series. They tend to be of a higher quality that the 20-22 a season shows that the USA churns out.

And that....sort of thing, a sasquatch?

I hope it's not a Sasquatch, wouldn't be a good direction for the show to take. I would rather it was a creation by the people running the project to scare the captives so they don't try to get past the wall..which it clearly did.

There was a similar theme in The Village so maybe Shymalan stuck that in WP.

Well I meant a human created one, like experimentation on people. DO you mean the same or a man in a suit, which was the detertent in the film, which I enjoyed, but it was easy to spot the big secret.

I was thinking of the film version rather than an actual beast though it would be very difficult for one or even two people to remove the body of a fully grown adult with that much speed so it could be some sort of mutated Gov't experiment. Odd that we only heard them when the gate was opened though.
