Well the best, er, dog won....
Thank goodness. Anything but a bl**dy magician!

I was surprised one of the two singers didn't make the last three.

Really thought UDI and the choir were going to be the top two.

Really? I thought he was excellent.

So much better than the OTT helicopter nonsense, the close up stuff is so impressive. Drives me nuts not knowing how he did it too!

The dog acts creep me out and as for the singing acts, isn't that why we have X Factor?

That is a very good point, and one I discussed with my family last night. It makes you wonder whether the singers know they have limited abilities with things like vocal range, and will be "found out" in a drawn-out competition.

The anti-magician thing is just personal. That sort of act does nothing for me, however clever it is.

I've noticed that every year there seems to be more and more professional or semi-professional acts. The dog act has been doing it for a while (Crufts), the magician is almost certainly doing the circuits, and the impersonator was completely honest about it. That's why I liked "Old men grooving" so much - although I've got a suspicion that they are former dancers, they gave the impression that they were in it for a laugh, were out for a good time, and were genuine punters, rather than fame seekers.

It's what the show should really be about. Members of the public who just enjoy the moment, rather than slightly bitter club acts who think they've been overlooked.

yeah he made a right cock up there. Spotted the bottom was missing in the lemon at the time - rewound it and showed the missus.

Lots of fuss in the tabloids today about the winning act using a ringer for the high-wire stunt. So what? Supposedly, members of the voting public are up in arms, and wouldn't have voted if they'd known. Yeah, right. It was a clever and well-organised act, very entertaining if you like that sort of thing.

It doesn't really matter who wins outright - Cowell is just using the show as a way of finding suitable talent for his business. The dogs will end up in obscurity, and one of the singers may get a big contract, make a few quid, and then disappear into obscurity. Cowell is callous when it comes to business, however much he may like dogs and Sinitta.

It's ridiculous, people saying it was a con, and the magician wasn't!!
