They’ll surely recast for Kang Dynasty now
I am hoping they just use another villain to be honest rather than just recasting Kang.maniac886 said:

He's a terrible villain that has already been beaten multiple times already...if he just keeps popping back up "because multiverse" it will rapidly get boring.
Give us an earth-level threat again with actual motivations like Dr.Doom, or keep going down the Dr.Strange weird route with Mephisto.
I assumed the idea was there would eventually emerge a version of Kang that would threaten the universe/multiverse/reality. As 'He Who Remains' claimed, he was there to prevent far worse versions of himself.Give us an earth-level threat again with actual motivations like Dr.Doom, or keep going down the Dr.Strange weird route with Mephisto.
The idea of Thanos as a looming 'Big Bad' that began in Avengers was a great idea, brilliantly executed. But maybe that can never work as well again.

Word on Reddit is that Kang's movie will now be "Avengers 5". There is also speculation that both Quantumania and Loki series 2 had just enough re-writes following the initial breaking of this story that Kangs story-line can be wrapped up.
Yeah the end of S2 of Loki means you could just drop the Kang story really, if not forever at least for a while. He's not the main villain in anything else, they can still do the multiverse stuff with another big bad it doesn't need to hinge on Kang. I saw Damson Idris' name being thrown about a lot as a potential replacement.....
The Disney+ series of Ironheart (spin off from Black Panther Wakanda Forever) was filmed in 2022, it may not be released until 2025. https://screenrant.com/mcu-ironheart-show-disney-p...

being cynical one might imagine that that doesn't bode well for the quality of said product...SlimJim16v said:

Really enjoying the second season of 'What If..."
just finished it, the best Marvel for some time. Anyone know when season 3 is coming? Trailer / first look seems very good.

It is a shame they were on the crest iof a wave that I do not think anyone saw coming, they made tens of billions, then it all sort of fell flat. And i do not even really know why?
I think fatigue is probably the best explanation initially, but now it is wokeism and al lthe garbage associated with it. People will not PAY to be pushed that agenda for fun!
And I applaud the general public for standing up to it

It’s been said before, but the MCU succeeded because it was just that, a universe.
Connected stories and a mostly consistent world converging into one overarching storyline.
Once Endgame had, er, ended, they had to start again but at no time has any of the subsequent output really had the same feeling of direction. Not to mention that none of the characters, plots or set pieces have felt anything like as well polished or involving as even the crappest parts of the first phase.
It’s not superhero fatigue. We’ve been shown how well it can be done and everything since has been a pale imitation/cash grab.
See Star Wars for the same effect.

I do see your point but I have always bought into Star Wars, the only parts I did not like were a few bits of the second Lucas era, the kiddy stuff left me cold, whereas the recent films seemed more akin to the first trying to appeal to both markets.
I always felt the Clones era was a film designed to sell merch rather than good films, I always wish peter jackson or someone of that ilk did them instead./
I know the current crop have their issues but having Hamil, ford, Fisher in them added weight and also made the link easier.
I imagine in time the likes of Hemsworth, Evans, Johansson will make a reappearance ion re-gens of Marvel films too.
They might get all snobby about it like Ford and Hamil did with SW, but eventually the price will be too much to turn down.

Thanos didn't appear in the MCU until the end credits scene of The Avengers, the fifth MCU movie.Connected stories and a mostly consistent world converging into one overarching storyline.

The Marvels
If they were angling to Kang as the major Villain then they've spent too long building it. Eight movies to introduce new characters, some of whom haven't been seen or mentioned at all since their movie. Shang Chi? Nowhere to be seen. The Eternals? Seemingly in hiding again. No one talking about the giant alien now sticking hundreds of feet out of the earth at the North Pole? Thanos's brother? Hulk's Son? It's all just terribly written, poorly directed (and executive directed by Fiege) with everything taking far too long to come to a point again.
