I wonder if Disney will allow Punisher to be the full on psycho he is when comic writers really let him go. He is much more interesting when he is "Rorschach with a skull" rather than the more kid-friendly "Captain America with guns".

I'd hope that Jon Bernthal would only be happy reprising the role as it was before. Charlie Cox has stated that DD is going to 'even darker' than the later stages of the last series so there's hope.

I've always found it weird that Punisher is viewed as a hero. He's a dangerous nutter, not an avenging angel.
But that does make him an interesting character.

That'll be the DD series that was deemed so bad by marvel management they scrapped the almost complete production and started again? Not a good sign.

The netflix series was superb imho (1 & 3, 2 sucked)

It started as more of a legal procedural focusing on Matt Murdoch, not what was wanted. So was rewritten and lots of new footage shot with Daredevil.

There are far too many clueless idiots working in Disney.

I believe the re-write/re-shoot/scrapping the thing also coincided with the changes to how they make shows now which is back to how it used to be and should help immensely (having a showrunner etc).

It doesn't bother me that they scrapped what they had tbh as it can only be a positive.

It's not, it's a fan made one from the previous series, unfortunately (although very well done).

I'm cross posting here to draw attention to the X Men '97 series on D+ (I started a thread here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... ).

As we know X Men have now been part of the MCU for a while yet Disney haven't really done much with them yet. Well, if you haven't watched the new series yet I cannot recommend it enough. It's 5 episodes along so far and it's some of the best animated TV I've ever seen, up there with Invincible already. It carries on from the original cartoon but you don't have to have seen it to watch the new one.

The reason I cross-post here is because I believe there's some stuff coming up which will directly cross into the rest of the MCU (and vice versa in the remaining episodes) so it's worth your time. It's the best thing Marvel have done in a long time and some of the best X Men content we've ever gotten.

Agree, it’s fantastic. And I’m not ashamed to admit when I saw the same clip you saw with the shield, a little bit of sex wee came out biggrin

The X-men cartoon and the four-player X-men arcade game (based on a cancelled cartoon) in the 90s were epic.
