One thing that grates is that in this series Karen is very ‘robotic’ and stiff, she’d stand out like a sore thumb.
But when she was ‘living’ as a policewoman and working with Pete she blended in completely and acted like a casual human.
True, I remember that twist with the 'bag' But when she was ‘living’ as a policewoman and working with Pete she blended in completely and acted like a casual human.

Agreed, was much better tonight. It’s difficult to keep a plot feeling fresh once all your ground rules are set out - seeing more of Karen has been good (miss her human sidekick - played by Neil Maskell - he was a hoot) but it’s like they’ve all (even Gemma Chan ) gained consciousness but got more robotic ....
Even so, some nice (but perhaps predictable/clichéd) twists helped this episode be a bit more .... “human”....
Particularly liked the slightly unexpected reaction of Mia to Ed turning up ...

How did Karen regress to being quite Android-y? All very odd - A real tragedy that she died though, I thought she'd be in for longer with her dealing with feelings transference...
I don't believe that she has died. In the past when the synths 'die' their eyes have turned white. Hers did not look like they had turned. She may just be badly damaged. My guess is that Joe will take her back to Matti and Leo, or to Max and the others and that she is repaired.I hope so because I like her story arc more than the others.
I think she is dead. Her death is a plot device to bring Joe back to the real world.
My though is that Joe will leave the “village in the ‘50s” and return to his family, and they will look after Karen’s ‘son’. The shock of seeing how they beat a ‘woman’ to death and then carry on about their business while her body lies in the street will make him realise he doesn’t want to be there. And obviously the kid won’t be safe if they stay.
It would be an interesting final step in the story arc of the Hawkins family, who began by not wanting to have a synth in the house, and end by having one as a son.

I've noticed that if you type "Gemma Chan" on this forum then the emoji comes up automaticallyIt’s difficult to keep a plot feeling fresh once all your ground rules are set out - seeing more of Karen has been good (miss her human sidekick - played by Neil Maskell - he was a hoot) but it’s like they’ve all (even Gemma Chan ) gained consciousness but got more robotic ...
Watch;
Gemma Chan
See
With the last episode of the series coming next week, I’m still what “Synth who sleeps” means. I was expecting a secret prototype that had been hidden away all these years. It’s consciousness somehow connect to all other synths. Perhaps in a non-functional body, therefore ‘sleeping’, but it’s mind plotting a glorious Synth Nation. Or something.
But I really have no idea.

Well I thought that last episode was great and have loved the last series, hope they make another, very upsetting when Mia was murdered
Very well thought out & structured last episode and sets numerous side stories up if they wanted to go further.Nice twist with Odie's character and the link to the previous series with the scientists AI - you did wonder what had happened there after she released it to roam the internet.
In this interview the writers talk about why they killed Mia...
