Chris Evans announced as new TG presenter

Top Gear was coming to an end in the current format so it was only time when the trio called it a day. Over the years Chris Evans has done some good shows both on Radio and TV over the years which pull in the audience figures so can only expect he will be putting his own twist on the new format. Will be interesting to see who joins him. Did think it might of been Plato or Jodie Kidd but we will have to wait and see.

Quite predictable really. Do the BBC ever go for anything other than the 'obvious' (and usually wrong) choice?

Evans is a tt, ruined R2 and I'm sure he will ruin TG as well.

Realistically, the old Top Gear format was getting rather tired, so perhaps a refresh was in order anyway.

At least with Chris Evans they've gone for a proper petrolhead, and like him or loathe him, he deserves to be given a chance.

There's probably little chance of that here though...

jodie kidd on the other hand would be a terrible choice, a very poor presenter.

I went through a brief phase of listening to Chris Evans on Radio 2 in the morning, but besides that I have never listened to R2 or seen him on any TV shows. He came across pretty well I thought, seemed a decent enough bloke if a bit animated for early mornings.

What exactly is it that some people hate so much about him?
