Generally I don't mind him on the radio. I listen to twenty minutes or so each day. He's okay.

The one time I cannot stand his radio show is when he starts going on about carfest. I've never been to the event but his screechy enthusiasm for it on the radio has me wondering why anyone thought to put him on topgear.

But, I guess, it'll probably be okay.
Yeah, and the ticket auctions for the event or to drive the cars on a road trip with CE that go for £££, alienating 99% of the listeneners but its ok because charridee! How long until Carfest is announced as Top Gear Festival for this year?
Don't alienate me. I enjoy the enthusiasm about the cars. I enjoy hearing them start and leave.

I'm not green with jealousy because I can't afford to bid those amounts, but I have seen the posts from those that are.
Might be nice, though, to make one of those rides available to all via raffle (Reading back, maybe there is, but I suspect the raffle just gets you some old ste, not a place on the 'run' - If I'm wrong, good job! smile ).

It doesn't bother me greatly because I can't stand the sight or sound of him, so I never listen to his show (I had the 'pleasure' last week on holiday - The girls in our Chalet had him on - and I now know I find him as irritating on the radio as I do on TV...).

First rule of PH - Never criticize anyone with more money than you.

Anyone that doesn't think Evans is a comedy genius is just jealous.
No. But many of the reactions on that day are.

He's not perfect, but who is.
It's not the auction stuff, that doesn't bother me at all. There's always the "text this number" lottery for less moneyed types.

It's the content and the way he delivers it. It's just not good broadcasting.

I think the poster above may also be right about TopGear-Fest. Oh, dear.
He's a ginger fkwit of the highest order.

From start to finish I feel like punching his lights in, why do I sometimes listen because the radio antenna in my car is that st I only get Radio 2 sometimes.

That stupid fking Tarzan at 6:30 in the morning and the rejigged Christmas tune everyday, how fking wacky you ginger 4 eyed . Then he goes on about being a motorcyclist, he rides a 3 wheel fking scooter. He doesn't even have a fking bike licence but goes on about being one, having just passed his CBT a few months ago.

For me it's got a feel of 'throw enough names at it and something will stick'. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a cull after focus groups or viewer reactions or what-not.

I had a similar feeling when I saw that line-up.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.

I thought that the Eddie Jordan rumour was just a bad joke but as he's been confirmed as part of the team I'm out.

Eddie Jordan and Sabine Schmitz join Top Gear line-up

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35548...

Formula 1 commentator Eddie Jordan and German racing driver Sabine Schmitz are to join the new series of Top Gear.

Motor journalist Chris Harris and TV presenter Rory Reid have also been signed to co-present the programme.

They will join Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc when the BBC Two programme returns in May.

I think the Muppets will be next !!!!

You know what, listened to it right through and that's actually quite good. It's just a shame at the end when he's talking about aspiring to it, working harder, making himself better, saving for it, then he says rob and steal for it. Had a chance to send a decent message wrapped in a presentation yoof can relate to, then buggers up the message.

Why Eddie Jordan....why oh why???

Glad Chris Harris is in there as I am liking his pieces more and more these days.

I'm looking forward to the show to see how it develops. It may take a few seasons to really find its feet but anything is better than continuing with the old style and presenters.

It's already turning into a Top Gear parody with this crowd.

I'll be watching (now I know Piers Morgan was just a wind up), I suspect viewing figures for the first episode will be huge followed by a massive crash in numbers. Have to at least give it a chance I suppose.

Chris Harris - why? Why do it, he must be mad.
