Top Gear is on the BBC, Chris Evans works for the BBC, he gets over 9 millions listeners, its an advert for an upcoming show thats on the BBC, why the hell not include it on his breakfast show? Singers, Actors do it all the time for their new project so make an exception for Chris?
Yes, I get the promotion bit. I'm not saying my interpretation of the situation is definitive, but knowing how Evans operates from two decades of observation, if this is true to form then it seems he hasn't learned much. Plus there's a difference between an actor going on someone else's show, and a presenter using their own show to promote their other activities.Challo said:
I sense you do not like him much?
I've never made a secret of that. He has a narrow band of talent which he excels at and is to be respected, but he's destroyed more than he's created when he pushes the boundaries of that talent.Edited by r11co on Thursday 18th February 10:19

What exactly has he destroyed?Edited by r11co on Thursday 18th February 10:19

The term is interested. Difficult to miss what is going on when he goes so public about it.
You, on the other hand, seem to be following and replying to my post in this tiny-by-comparison forum like a stalker.
Like a lot of people, when I come to Pistonheads I go to "my stuff" first and saw this had been updated. I thought there might be something new but was disappointed when it was your artistic interpretation of something said on a radio show by someone you don't like very much. You, on the other hand, seem to be following and replying to my post in this tiny-by-comparison forum like a stalker.
I know it's said a lot on here "if you don't like it don't watch it" but given your clear dislike for Mr. Evans you do seem to be first with "the news"

I can honestly say I've not knowingly watched a programme with her in it and I only listed to the radio occasionally in the morning so it's of no consequence what bloody parrot you care to import. It would still mean nothing to me.
Pssst....destroyed...call The Great Destruction Parrot
Will this mirth never end?
"Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc are set to travel from London to Blackpool this afternoon for Top Gear... in roofless three-wheeled Reliant Robins.
The new motoring show hosts were told they will face off in a UK v US series of challenges, with the first being a chilly trip up the M1 and M6 motorways to the ‘Las Vegas of the north’."

Listening to Chris Evans this morning, not by choice, he's doing a TG feature about the Reliant Robin today but he hasn't a clue about the history of the car, where it was manufactured etc. He's been Googling it this morning to find out.
If he only knows about expensive exotica then it doesn't bode well.
Oh, and Matt Le Blanc sounds so boring!
However, I'll still give the new TG a go, though I'm mostly looking forward to seeing what the trio come up with on Amazon Prime.

realistically, it's pretty obvious he knows sod all about cars - even Ferrari's (he was the one that took a bath on one by not checking originality etc).If he only knows about expensive exotica then it doesn't bode well.
That's bad enough, but to then basically admit on-air that he knows nothing about one of the last UK car manufacturers is very poorly judged.

And even called it "Robin Reliant" before correcting himself. Does seem a bit odd to announce where they're filming, hopefully all the challenges they do won't be like that, though there were often crowds of people on some parts of the old TG challenges, so maybe not that different.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
