Pretty much everything will be pre-recorded at different times.

Is there going to be another series of TFI Friday, or was it a one off? I suspect there was going to be, but with Top Gear, TFI Friday will be dropped.

ok forget the one show .. I still think it's way too much, both for him to take on and keep up any sort of quality, and for us to watch

8 episodes in run up to Christmas.

If TG starts filming soon would probably be done in time for him to TFI

The trouble is getting 3 random new people in and getting them to click like clarkson Hammond and may did, each with their own role.

So it doesn't matter who actually does it, making them gel and appealing to the audience is the key.

I thought he was just doing the first show then handing over to others?

I suspect we'll get the first episode of TG at Christmas and then the rest of the series a couple of months after. The Beeb seem to struggle for decent Christmas stuff these days and this would be a big headline programme for them!

This.

And the Beeb seem to struggle producing much of interest. Certainly not willing to do more unusual things (and forget about sci-fi if it isn't Dr. Who...).

I assumed all their sci-fi output would be on CBeebies rather than grown up TV? wink

I don't know about Sci-Fi, but most of the Beeb fictional content is broadcast on something called 'The News Channel'

I quite like Edd China for the James May role.

He's already dipped his toes ...

"In 2002 he also appeared on Top Gear, where he showcased a Rover 800 (purchased for £200) that had been modified with budget Bond-esque gadgets, such as an ejection seat, for merely £100.[2] The double-deck cars in Top Gear (series 11 episode 6, British v Germans) were also manufactured by China.[3]" Wiki

I`d like to see Chris Harris & Edd China as the other two presenters. That would be brilliant

Not one bit. Like the Edd section of wheelder dealers and watched / liked all of Harris`s videos and thought they were great.

The fact that Wheeler Dealers now exists in the lesser explored depths of the cable/satellite ocean and that Harris's videos exist on the internet should tell you all you need to know about the mass market appeal of your choices.

Can I suggest you try googling "William Woollard/Angela Ripon/Tony Mason Top Gear" - that should give you the sort of show you seem to be seeking.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned Guy Martin yet, but I seem to remember reading somewhere, quite recently, that he's been quoted as saying he wouldn't want to do TG.

Jody Kidd ... tolerable.
Suzy Perry ... tolerable.
VBH ... tolerable
David Mitchell ... are you serious?
Dermot O'fking Leary ... I'd never watch it again.
Steve Coogan ... he'd be OK
Phil glenister ... also OK.
Ed China ... would be fantastic.

Can't think of a single female I'd really want. Oh yes I can - Rachel Riley. (mmmmm.....)

With regard to the Stig, doesn't Clarkson still own the rights to that?

I've not seen it if he has.
